How do you know that he has been instructed to NOT JUMP in a fumble pile in the very first game of the season against a top 5 ranked team (in a non-home game)?

"You feel that Mettenberger is fine" doesn't equate to the coaching staff feeling the same way or announcing it that way.

We have seen JL make bad throws under pressure and bad throws without pressure. He has delivered excellent throws under pressure and great throws without pressure.

What does this mean - unless if you are one of the following - the coaching staff, his OL or his WRs, then you are only speculating and any argument about his being"scared to get hit" is a baseless one.

Beat me to it.

No lynch mob? I am disappointed in some of you.

People get so offended when you criticize JL. Or they assume that you would rather Jefferson play.

wish fans would heed this call for civility regardless of whom is at QB for LSU

civility is almost dead. there are a few left that understand how it enhances our lives. and you are one of those.

i may or may not agree with the op but JL is our qb; he is LSU and he is what we got. damn it, i'm on his side and i like what he did last saturday and hope he continues to grow.

I am surprised too that there haven't been more vociferous protests but not for the same reason as you pointed out.

The OP, for having made baseless statements without any substantiation, has gotten off quite easily - maybe the Rant is taking it easy(or it is the night that is doing it).

And that is his biggest problem. It's the reason he throws off his back foot. It's the reason he does not step up in the pocket when he should. It's the reason he doesn't run when he should. He is scared shitless. He's got plenty good enough arm and enough size to be a good QB. He just doesn't have the moxie, and unfortunately, that is NOT something you can teach. You either got it, or you don't. And he doesn't.

P.S. That doesn't mean that he can't take us where we all want to go, it just makes it harder for us to get there.

MY FIRST POST!!!! STFU!!!

To be honest , I don't think that the OP was not supporting JL and it was not an uncivil question - merely an unsupported reasoning.

He had arrived at a conclusion (subjectively) that JL didn't have a certain necessary quality , desirable in a QB, and felt the team and JL would be better served if he progressed in that direction.

That explains why he chose to be a QB in the SEC.

I saw him scared. I rather have him there than JJ. I did see him stand in there a couple of times but saw him nervous a couple of times

wow, sowbug, first post.

wow, such courage to get on the rant and post a negalee.

you must be a very courageous man (like statman) to post negative stuff under a computer alias like sowbug.

your courage is only electricity deep. sowbug, you have demonstrated your lilly-livered, yellowbellied, chickenshit courage in the finest of posts.

I like him , I think we are going to be ok, why pass when you can run the ball?? Oh ,just enough to keep the run open . It is more in the snap of the wrist than front or back foot , plus tha back foot acts like a spring , the front foot is more at the end of a pass. The length of the body is in a good pass, the tip of the fingers send the ball where it goes , not the palm of the hand , I think he throws the ball better than what was that guys name ?? I forgot .

I have. Russ Shows at Ole Miss. would fall down before the defender got to him in the pocket to avoid the hit.
