The first post in this thread might have been full of hyperbole,

anyone that doesn't see that fear is still Lee's biggest hurdle to being a good and maybe even a great college QB isn't paying attention.

I think he's watched to much film on Brett Favre.

Andrew Hatch put his nose in, running right into the teeth of the defense, and got a broken leg.

Not that the OP is right and not that he is wrong. This is just where I am. Here: I am so fricking tired of threads about stupid arse opinions on intangible crap that really doesn't freaking matter. All that matter is was his throw on target. If it was great say he made a good pass. If not say the pass sucked. I don't give a frick if he is afraid as long as he does his job. I don't care if his technique sucks as long as the pass goes where it should. I don't give a crap WHY he is good or WHY he is bad. The WHY doesn't matter. If you lose you lost regardless of WHY! If you one it doesn't matter either.

both. concussion was reported first. turned out later, had a broken leg too.
concussion was a foregone conclusion with that running style.

I am going to defend what I see. I saw JL take some hits Saturday so I don't think fear is his issue.
Panic under pressure doesn't mean fear. Means panic, something he can def work on. But that doesn't equate to fear. His team would not play hard for him on the field if that was the case, JMO

You are dead wrong. You obviously don't know football.
Maybe he didn't jump in the pile because he has no real back up.

But here is the thing; he seems to have improved his mental approach to the game since 2008. On the road, against a top 5 team, he was "ok." But he can be very good if he ever relaxes some more out there and fully gets his head straight. That's why his rushing his progressions and footwork is significant. He had drops, but he was inaccurate a decent amount and left some good throws on the field. We can win with him being ok, but why not hope that he can go beyond that? You don't have to be a Lee hater to see that he can do better...

I think in this context panic and fear is splitting hairs. If you want to use panic instead that is fine, but no one is suggested that Lee is thinking "Oh God, Oh God, they are going to hit me!" Just that he is so concerned about it that it becomes panic/fear and that it is overcoming his game more than it should.

How do you know that he has been instructed to NOT JUMP in a fumble pile in the very first game of the season against a top 5 ranked team (in a non-home game)?
"You feel that Mettenberger is fine" doesn't equate to the coaching staff feeling the same way or announcing it that way.
We have seen JL make bad throws under pressure and bad throws without pressure. He has delivered excellent throws under pressure and great throws without pressure.
What does this mean - unless if you are one of the following - the coaching staff, his OL or his WRs, then you are only speculating and any argument about his being"scared to get hit" is a baseless one.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion and perspective. But so am I.
I have never seen a QB at LSU as courageous as Jarrett Lee. No LSU QB in the last 41 years has ever endured as much criticism and pressure as he has and I don't ever recall him ducking either interviews or responsibility. That he chose to stay and compete is a testament to his mental fortitude.
In '08, he assumed responsibility to defend a NC with no D and after Hatch went down no relief. Tiger fans would be enduring the ridicules of a loss to Troy in '08 if not for JL. IMO, he is still haunted by the ghosts of '08. For that matter, he looked more comfortable in the early parts of '08 than now.
Go JL and
