My hope is that he's a grad student soon too. No idea what his academic situation is, but I think Burrow being a grad student is a tremendous boon for him. There's just not as many requirements on him.

Nothing against Brennan but a QB like Burrow doesn’t come around very often
You're right, Brennan will unlikely be able to match Burrow, but I think he can still be great in this offense.
Posted this in another thread, but:
He completed over 67% of his passes in high school over his CAREER (not just 1 year) and had 166 passing TD to just 25 INT (14 of which came in Sophomore season). He had 189 total TDs in 3 seasons. He shattered a handful of MS state high school records.
This guy is tailor made for an offense like this. He has a very live arm and when given the reigns of the 1st team offense I think he's going to produce some big numbers.

Name a single QB that Ensminger has made great. Just one. Also, Burrow with Brady vs Burrow with Ensminger.

Brennan's arms is stupid
his release is pretty damn special as well. as long as people arent expecting him to be burrow, brennan will perform well in this offense.
we'll probably focus a bit more on the run game next year with price and emory

A full spring and fall with the greatest offensive mind in college football tutoring him?
Money!
Money!

I have confidence in Brennan, too. I think complete confidence might be a touch too much because we haven't seen it yet. I'm just worried that LSU fans will put lofty expectations on him because of what Burrow is doing now. He can play very very well and still not put up Joe Burrow numbers.

My post is to find out if Peter Parrish is a qb in LSU's future.
All I've read, per Jimmy Details, is that Parrish is overall much better than expected and also has a stronger and more accurate arm than expected. He also wrote that Parrish is very intelligent and an excellent runner as well and has also broken off some long runs in practice. Now I read that during Fall Camp. So I haven't had an update in quite some time.
In addition, I did read where someone wrote that Parrish was thinking of transferring because he isn't any good, but the post appeared to come from a complete ignoramus who was trying to make the case for LSU going after that Houston QB that is transferring.
Personally, I think it is all BS made up off the top of that ignoramuses head. Although I could be wrong, I don't think that I am.

I expect Brennan to be adequate but not nearly on the same level as Joe Burrow. As Burrow is a once in a several generations kind of player.
But I hope Brennan can gel with the receivers in the offseason much the same way Burrow did and next season, I think the running game will be a more integral part of the offense.
However, I also don't think that Brennan will handle pressure nearly as well as Joe Burrow does, cause no one does.

to be fair, he chose a guy who was a Heisman finalist and top 15 pick over Burrow
Actually, no one had chosen anyone yet until after Joe Burrow had already graduated and left OSU. Then and only then did they name Haskins the starter.
As Burrow had previously informed the coaching staff that if he didn't win the starting job in the spring, that he was going to transfer cause he was graduating at the end of the spring semester.
Subsequent to the spring, Burrow was told by the coaching staff that they hadn't made a final decision yet on who would be the starter and wouldn't make that decision until late in Fall Camp.
Meanwhile, Burrow decided to transfer after he graduated anyway cause he didn't want to take a chance of staying at OSU and then ending up being a backup again.
And frankly, I'm very happy he did elect to transfer.

I give Urban a lot of credit for giving Joe the chance to move on rather than try to slow play him to try to keep him around.
He did try to slow play Burrow in an effort to get him to stick around. After the spring, Burrow was told that a final decision on who the starter would be wouldn't be made until late in Fall Camp.
However, Burrow not wanting to take a chance of sticking around only to find out he would be a backup again, decided to transfer anyway. Burrow also felt he had done enough in the spring to win the starting job, but they nonetheless told him they couldn't make a decision until late in the Fall Camp.

Joe Burrow is Ensminger's latest. As Joe Burrow didn't go from average Joe QB in 2018 to inevitable Heisman winner in 2019 by osmosis. Joe Burrow blames it on the coaching staff and namely Coach E as he calls his QB coach. Of course, transforming the offense to the kind of spread offense Joe has always run since he was a kid helped out a great deal too.
Another QB Offensive Coordinator, QB coach, and play-caller Steve Ensminger developed when he coached at UGA is former UGA QB, Eric Zeier. Here read his wiki.
LINK
Brady is the Passing Game Coordinator. He is responsible for the amazing transformation of the wide receiver room from average in 2018 to great in 2019.
As Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady have amazing synergy when working together and it would be very insane to break up the duo as a lot of you haters would love to do out of pure utter meanness and stupidity.

Thank you King Daddy for the explanation on Peter Parrish. Sounds like good news, and hopefully he sticks with the Tigers. I know one thing he passes the eye test during pregame warm ups.

Next man up. If it is Brennan, great! If somebody progresses faster, that is the nature of the game.

I agree. Coach Brady will have him ready to geaux, not a doubt in my mind.

Lots of QB's have the physical tools but few have JB's mental and metal to play at a high level.

I cannot think of a situation where both parties have benefitted like the Joe Burrow to LSU move in 2018. IT has been an absolute boom for LSU and it has allowed Joe to show his talents and earn a situation where he will make boatloads of money very soon.
Thank you, Joe, for coming to LSU.

quote:E's biggest contribution has been to leave Burrow's mechanics alone. Can't count the number of well-meaning QB coaches who have fricked up a kid's unique but highly effective mechanics.
Joe Burrow is Ensminger's latest.
E allowed Burrow to choose his own off-season coaches to polish anything JB wanted to work on.
