do you know anything about football aside from the fact that the team with the most points wins? yea i bet this is how the bear and joepa and all the greats did it..

Hey guy.. give it up. All you're doing is disagreeing with the entire board. You're obviously one of those types of ppl that never admit when theyre wrong. Everyone on here is going to have their own opinions on Mile's coaching and you quoting the entire board and telling us that all of our opinions are misleading isn't going to make us change our minds.

Well said! I remember chanting "we want 100" one year when we beat Rice 77 - 0. Of course, we lost to Alabama and a few others as we seemed to do every year.

Again only partially true. Lee didn't come in on 3rd down. He starts those drives. So a bit misleading yet again.
I apologize, my statement in my previous post was only partially true...
It happened on 2 instances, the other was in the 2nd quarter on a 3rd and 22...

I stated earlier in this thread that I want to see Lee start. I am in no way arguing that. But when I see JJ run out on the field this saturday, I'm not going to throw my hands up and say we've lost. Just because Miles puts him in does not mean we will lose. The only thing that is PURELY factual about any of this is that statement alone. 7-0 is hard for any of you to argue with, and if I'm not mistaken both QBs have played in every game.

Just shake your head in disgust like the rest of us.

That's it..I'm Sold!! This guy is indeed Les Miles himself. Welcome to TigerDroppings Coach Miles

Yes, because coming in late during a win and handing the ball off over and over against Miss. St. is a way to accumulate stats...
Lee didn't play against North Carolina, and he was 1 for 1 against both Vandy and West Virginia.
So, not only are you mistaken, you're arguement about it is skewed. Lee is 170 yards shy with only true participation in 3 games...

But I also remember what happens when you throw a QB into the starting role before he's properly prepared. I sometimes wonder about the rest of you alls memory.

I think coach Miles has brought him along at the pace he felt was needed this season. - - again....7-0

Once again, he's not ready to start, but he's ready for 3rd and long and game winning drives with under 2 minutes to go in the game?
Just doesn't add up...
I agree though, 7-0 is nice, but because you're successful, doesn't mean you're doing it right.
I enjoy winning, I support the team and even the coaches, but there are obvious changes that can and need to be made to change LSU from a team winning with luck to a team winning by creating our own fate instead of relying on luck that isn't as reliable.

I'm thinking it's a player to be honest. Not that I'm for or against the argument, I try to stay objective. Granted I do get frustrated during the game but I applaud the effort and celebrate after the game.

Yeah but how long will his "close to the vest" last? You can only survive a duel so many times before you're the one that ends up getting killed.

By the way, I don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but Choctaw called it correctly.

A game like McNeese should be a vehicle to get valuable playing time for back-ups and reward walk-ons for their effort and energy in practice.

Yeah but how long will his "close to the vest" last?
A very good coach once told his team (I was part of that team) "Mistakes are what determines whether we win or lose. If we make zero mistakes on defense, they won't score and therefore we can't lose."
I believed that for a long time, but I've come to realize it's not an ABSOLUTE truth. A pick-six is one example. But my point is, I think coach Miles kind of lives and coaches with this mentality because of our defensive strength. - ...for whatever it's worth.

I understand that, but you use it against McNeese...really? Did you not say we hold back to not show things for film, what happened there? We honestly needed to fake that punt...and if so, that just helps my argument.
If you would have been paying attention to the actual fake punt, all 11 mcneese players ran back to set up a return, Jasper basically had a free first down. Being the heads up player he is for the tigers, he literally stood there for a couple seconds to make sure he could definatly make it and ran.
Had nothing to do with actually "faking a punt". It was a busted play gift wrapped by Mcneese, that Jasper decided to take advantage of.
Not gonna do anything for future game prep other than coaches will probably laugh when they see how Mcneese screwed themselves and make sure somebody watches contain (which any decently coached team will do anyway, I don't think I've ever seen all 11 players totally abandon conatinment on a punt that wasn't a deliberate fake.)

It appears easy for you to forget when we used to do just that, but then we also always lost to Bama, Florida, and one or two more each season. Yes, we had those big blowout wins that got everyone excited, but then someone always came along to tag us with the mediocre label, every year. Is that what you want to return to?
Uh, that is exactly what has happened the last two seasons.

Do you mean winning by scores like 45-0, 48-7, 44-0 or 58-10?
Which WE did ...
under this same coach ...
in a National Championship season
