Do the students still do the old cheers like "We Eat Pizza" and "Rip Rip Rip"?

I remember I used to join in when I was in college...since then I've grown out of it, but I was just curious if it was still going on.

Or has it just been replaced with F-bombs and "Suck that Tiger Dick Bitch?"

As of this past season they were still being done! It lives on. I mean, with anything, the old tradition will remain with new things always added in like the F-bombs and such!

We used to give hell to the Fraternities and Sororities at away games with those cheers. Good college memories.

Rat Shite might have been my personal favorite. Those were the days.

Apparently some drunk guys in the 90's started them and they've just carried on.

They're not exactly the "cleanest" of cheers, but were funny in college. Like anything, you graduate, and then it's not so funny.

I just thought about them on my drive to work thinking about the old college days.

I remember the good ol' mid 80's when I was a student, and TGBFTL actually got to play and finish """"EVERY"""" LSU cheer and song.

Hearing 'Tiger Rag' and the 'ha ha ha ha ha' after an LSU TD, and the band holding tempo with a drum cadence until the extra point went through the goal posts as an exclamation was VERY cool, and TRADITIONAL. School spirit. LSU spirit.

Not any more. We don't have LSU traditional mystique and spirit.
It's too bad we'll never hear that again after an LSU TD, nor will we ever hear the traditional old wonderful cheers and songs that the Band used to play.
We have gone from one of the best and most highly school-spirited student sections to an absolute embarrassment and abomination - and they DON'T GIVE A FLYING ---- about ANYONE.

But themselves. It's a shame.

I agree that alot of this stuff was taken way too far...

But I went to games with alot of really good people who don't drink or cuss, but would join in these cheers...it was just fun. Then everything got way out of hand with all the F Bombs and such.

My stance is that it's a football game...not church...so go ahead and cuss, don't go crazy with it, and don't be dropping F bombs around kids.

Alot of it was harmless because we were just in the company of other students.

It's not bad at road games. I've been to Atlanta and Orlando and it's been decent but then I'm mainly with the alums now.

Changing of the times, folks. No one's clean anymore. But we do the best we can to represent our Tigers with class.

Here comes all the old timers that can't move on claiming it was better when they were in college because they "did it right."

One of my best memories in College was going to the Cotton Bowl vs. Texas in 02, and the night before the game alot of TGBFTL were out downtown and they were trying to get everybody to join in on a big "We Eat Pizza"...it was really funny.

GTFO I tired of self endulging, entitled morons like you. I'm sure when you were in college you were a model citizen. doubt it. I don't scream F-bombs @ football games but to complain every damn day and talk about the good ole clean days is pure hypocrisy.

Hey they still do "hot boudin" but they've since added to their repertoire.

If you older fellas knew these cheers, you'd be pissed at this thread right now!

Oh yes. That's right. I'm 'self endulging' and 'entitled' because I happen to CARE about what a national or regional TV audience, 10,000 visiting fans, and 68,000 season ticket holders
might think about the infantile screeches that come from our student section.
Not to mention that the best band in the land -
CAN'T EVEN PLAY THEIR OWN SCHOOL'S TRADTIONAL SONGS AND CHEERS IN THEIR """""""""OWN"""""""" STADIUM.
FYI, I was in a fraternity as a student in the mid-80's. We did our child-like celebrating AFTER the game, not in front of the whole world.

And you have discovered the root of the problem... This is where most of these cheers start, and they just kind of spread.

Hang on Metry...

When I was in school, we didn't do these cheers in the game...this was all tailgating and waiting for the student gates to open.

What you're talking about is all the crap and vulgarity that's going on inside the stadium now.

2 different things.

So you call having our band not being able to play their own school's songs and cheers IN THEIR OWN STADIUM...."doing it right" ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

And I didn't realize that I was an "old-timer" at
46. ????
