I hate the idea that you shouldn’t complain about the refs or “shouldn’t have mattered”

Most games in college are within a 1-2 score line. LSU was favored in this game by 9 points. Tied at the end of regulation with 2 TDs that should not have counted. The game played right to the line if the refs don’t suck. I don’t care if the refs called it the same both ways, or we got a call on roughing the passer, or whatever to “balance it out”. It doesn’t matter when two touchdowns should not have counted. Did it impact the outcome? Yes it absolutely did and you are lying if you say it didn’t.

Refs are incompetent and they or the league should be answering to it.

And that doesn’t even take into account the false start that was thrown then picked up because a timeout was called.

This week it feels like that is just additional context as to why we lost rather than a thing to complain about. We got a little bit screwed a few times, but none were quite egregious enough (albeit incorrect calls) to make me feel like we had the game taken away from us. There were so many little things in our control to have done just slightly better that would have altered the outcome that I'm struggling to feel like we got hosed here as much as I feel like we just simply let this one slip.

It would have only taken 1 of the many blatant calls happening for us to win the game. The margins in CFB in general are razor thin right now and refs absolutely can be the determining factor, especially when playing away. Player by player we are better than Kentucky but they are a good over team with the right players for what their identity is. They have good coaches too.

Forward momentum on tush push, false start before 2pt conversion, or any of the many holding calls on key plays being called and we win the game.

The fact is, we aren’t playing the game. We are biased observers and should be allowed to criticize whatever we want because we aren’t in the locker room.

Being critical of the refs is healthier than just piling it on the players and coaching. Especially when it is well deserved

The block in the back on the punt return TD was the worst of the calls. I mean I called it as soon as I saw it and couldn't believe a flag wasn't thrown. That and the forward progress being stopped completely at the GL but no whistle being blown. Yes those 2 calls cost us the game regardless of the mistakes LSU made.

I would agree with this if it wasn't so blatant in areas. You could argue they were clubbing us on almost every Kentucky offensive play. Straight up. This might be the worst officiated game I've seen all year. I even had a Florida fan I know who saw the game text me saying the refs were hosing LSU. Anyone with eyes could see it.

1 or 2 bad calls? Sure. An entire game influenced by refs? Absolutely NOT. That's completely different because there's play after play you can argue had a major influence on the game. Sure, play better but if they didn't have such a massive influence over the game would it have even mattered score wise with them even being in it?
