So you come to the rant to try and figure out how to stop piped in music?

You never know when someone out of 20K or so fans will have a solution.

How would you like to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks and hear a roster crowing everytime you score...

I like the music FWIW..I remember hearing it last year for the SC-LSU game in SC and thinking it was kinda cool

Dude the reason they play the music is because it attracts recruits. most of your average highschool senior recruits would rather listen to their favorite rap song while warming up. ( in fact most of the band members look like they do too) so just get used to the next generation of college sports and get over it

I just want to try and have a conversation about doing something, if possible about stopping it.

The ONLY way the ridiculous piped in music might possibly be stopped is if the Delicate Genius's (LSUAD) receive enough letters/e-mail telling them why you don't like it and asking them to Cease and Desist. Whining, complaining, whooping and hollering here isn't going to do it.

Contact Alleva and whoever else in the AD you feel might listen.........

Nope, I've heard he(Alleva) is the one that wanted the music. He got the speakers put in and the next week there was piped in music. I think he's dead-set on having the music in Tiger Stadium so all you whiners are going to have to suck it up.

Um...they always used to that cheer before every game when I was in school in the late nineties. Do they not do it anymore?

They won't stop it because even though a small handful of people on here complain about it, the crowd in Tiger Stadium seems to react positive to it. There were times during the Bama game I remember the crowd getting it's loudest when they piped in the music.

The only time I like it is when they show that video before the game. Before the team runs out. Like a pump up video. It shows these old LSU football clips and then the video stops and the team runs out.

THAT'S THE ONLY TIME MUSIC SHOULD BE PIPED IN.

yeah.. hey, let me be clear.. I don't mind it at all before the game. Warming up, whatever.. just play something good.. what's hot and gets people moving.

I only went to one game last year, but think I'll get to go to more this year. What were the songs people can remember that sucked or were good?

Louisiana Saturday night.. ok..I guess. Callin BR... gotta be something more up to date.

There's got to be way somewhere. Maybe Carl could help us out and write a column on it.

TS on Sat Night is the best atmosphere in all of college football. Piped-in music only detracts from that. Let TGBFTL play more.

There was a nice thread on this last year. Glad to see someone get the ball rolling.

Does anybody remember the old score board that would give a one liner about the last play. .. Kind of like a Gmorgan doing football?

I thought that was cool. I wouldn't mind if they brought that back.. something about that made Tiger Stadium different. I want it to stay different, but cool. Like the H goal posts, for instance.

Piped in music just lumps us in with the rest of the slugs.
