I mentioned Kiffin a lot but was always downvoted because a lot of folks couldnt recognize the success he was having after his USC/Raiders nonsense.

Once he got to Alabama, he was reformed and he proved his quality at FAU and then subsequently Ole Miss.

But again, every time he was mentioned people could only draw upon memories of Kiffin from over 5 years before the moment and totally discounted all the positives he brought.

Kelly is averaging around 3.5 losses a year at LSU. He’s 33-12 and on track for another opt out bowl game again this season.

He had chances at Tennessee and USC, the latter he got fired cause he was bad, the other he bailed after one mediocre year cause that's who he is.

He had the resources to get the best portal class in America at Ole Miss last year and lost to Kentucky, Florida and us - and he had a better roster than us last year without question.

So quit pretending the sample size of 20 years isn't big enough or he's a changed man so the 20 years don't count....we know who he is.

Kelly is and was the "Jimbo Fisher" hire.

This will go down as one of the biggest blunders in LSU history

Was Kiffen even interested? Even if he was, which he wasn’t, he want ready for the job at that time. He’s matured a lot in these past 3-4 years.

He was on my wish list but ....WHITE. WHALE!!! Idk where the hell the idea of a old cranky Yankee came from. Woodward fricked up

Kiffin was a no-go at the time, because of his public antics. We were coming off Orgeron being an idiot in public, while the program was floundering.

What they wanted was someone who was "a grownup", someone who acted professionally as the head coach. Kelly was expected to do that, and he largely has- he isn't sniping at other coaches or fanbases, etc.

And they wanted someone who could restore respectability to the program. Kelly has done that. We're bitching because we haven't made the playoffs yet, and we have looked weak on various sides of the ball (defense a couple years, offense now); we're not bitching because we might have a losing season. Look at Auburn, Florida. They're bitching because they can't get back to 8-9 wins, we're bitching because that's where we're at.
I still say it was important that we stabilize right now, with the expansion. Texas and Oklahoma know LSU isn't an auto-win, they aren't coming in and slotting into a spot higher than us. We blew the frick out of Oklahoma last year, and that was big.
And considering Kiffin, Kelly's splitting home-and-homes with him. They were supposed to be good a couple times coming into Tiger Stadium, we've ruined those seasons for them. We'd have raged about those losses too.

I ain't saying Kelly's perfect, just pointing out we bitch about everything. If we were still undefeated, we'd be bitching about the offense. This fanbase bitched during baseball season, all the way through the CWS.
