huh?
hell no.
that was 40 years ago
different time man. we played a 3-4 front then. very vanilla ball then.
hardly no blitzing. you are comparing apples to watermelons.
a better comparison would be to saban and willie B in 2003
pellini in 05, 06 or 07
chavis in 2011
aranda 2019
sabana and pellini had attacking D
chavis and aranda were more bend but don't break.

yes, somewhat, but I think this defense as a chance to be the best for a very long time.

They were physical but as stated above, not a lot to it. Very smash mouth,

Are you talking about the syndrome SFP has?

Yea, controlling the middle of the field like his teams did. Bennefield, Weeks and Dottery are so good you can run a lot games up front. Every time Clemson got it blocked and created a crease one of those 3 closed it fast.

Ansparger’s defense was not like last Saturday night. Ever. He was an alleged defensive genius. But, his defensive scheme would let good teams march down the field until they reached our 40ish yard line and then tighten up. So whenever the ball was turned over on downs, LSU was inevitably in bad field position. He was good, but …

No way ,Arnspargers D wasn’t bend but don’t break,Bakers is aggressive and doesn’t want to give up any yards.Arnspargers D wasn’t as prone to give up big plays, whereas BB s D because of blitzing can be more suseptable to over the top plays.
