Great to hear considering he wasn't able to be a part of summer workouts..says a lot about his work ethic.

That can't be overstated

If this dude comes into practice this week and is in the same condition as the freshman guys who have been there all summer, plus having gained 30 lbs, that is damn impressive.

After looking at this kids highlights he is gonna be a beast. It also looks like he is a hard worker to make those gains since high school.

Kid's gonna be a 1st rounder once O is done teaching him. Awesome to see that he's already gotten a head start on his own though.

sounds like part of a Tolkein quest

The young elvish prince must acquire the Arden Key from the orc hoard in order to fulfill his destiny.

doesn't look like if that last picture is supposed to be the one that is proof that he has bulked up into a big time player. Looks bigger in that last picture (looked like an Ethiopian in those first ones) but is still a very long way from being SEC ready. Looks like he would get killed in a physical SEC game. Looks like a red shirt candidate and a year spent getting moffitized (and maybe some PED's would help). Will probably be a good one but not this year.

You realize Mingo played at 240 right? Obviously he's not going to be starting DE but he will definitely see the field if he's in game condition

talking about Key. Looks to be about 215 in that last photo. No way any where near 240. He's going to be a good one at LSU but not this year.

Wanna know how I know that you don't know what you're talking about?

Steele likes "Big" Bama style LB's. Just get it over with and switch to a 3-4 with Key at one of the OLB spots. There will most likely be a transition to this in Camp and over the course of the season.....

Look at the first pic and then the last pic. In the third pic he has full pads on so you may not notice, but you'd have to be blind to not notice the difference in the first and last pics.

I thought you followed recruiting, but I guess not. The guy is 6'5 so at 240, he's not going to look huge. A comparison is Lorenzo Carter from last year. He was listed at 6'5 223 last year as a true freshman and is now listed as 6'5 243. Last year as a situational player and then getting 5 starts to close the season, he finished with 41 tackles 7.0 TFL and 4.5 sacks.

I'd kill for Key to pull those numbers, and Key has that potential. We'll use him just like they did as a hybrid DE/OLB.

Well, you nailed it. Nowhere near 240lbs.

He checked in at 236lbs.

still way thin for a DE. Needs about another 25 lbs. Would make a good LB though at his current size. Still looks like he needs some serious time in the weight room before he is SEC ready though.
