No he wouldn't Leach doesn't believe in running the ball a ton. He says that isn't a balanced offense.

So, if Pelini CAN'T make adjustments during the game, then get in your damn truck and leave!! What good are you? What's Coach O talking about?

I'm not. He needs to get his crap together or he won't be around long. He left young DBs with no protection over the top after getting burned several times. Pelini has some time to correct it or we'll get rid of him and find another DC who will fix it!

I will never ever cut a defensive coach any slack for letting a 2 and 3 star Miss state team put up over 600 yards against us.

ZERO!

Pelini had soared to unbelievable heights when O miraculously stole him from YOUNGSTOWN STATE and it’s 20,000 seat mega stadium. Have the SEC offenses changed much since 2007?

At least through several changes on our coaching staff over the years, he’s stayed a consently bad poster.

He gets benefit of the doubt due to new players, no Stingley, no Logan, Leach air raid magic, LSU offense couldn’t sustain drives, minimal home field advantage.
Lots of excuses though (like armpits - all stink) - multiple performances like this and he can go back to the penguins.

Well he doesnt coach the dbs's. Even with zone coverage you have to still cover guys. We had all inexperienced db's who were mostly like 5 star guys going up against MSU. He probably thought we will get a pass rush and out athlete them on the perimeter and if we cant do that then oh well. How would have the young guys executed a complex zone scheme if they cant even figure out who to cover in man on man.

I think if you put this on Pelini or Brennan your an idiot. We had WR's running into each other, dropping balls. A freshamn TE not blocking, running random routes, or standing in the middle of other WR routes. OL with their back turned to the D. A rusher not being picked up with 6man protect with a 3 man rush. OUr Top WR dropping balls, running a screen in front of the actual screen man as opposed to blocking. It looked like the fricking bad new bears out there but yeah, Pelini sucks or wait the qb sucks.

This is a very young secondary, no spring practice, a haphazard fall practice. Hell he probably isn't yet aware of the limits of each of his defenders.

The problem is multifaceted

Personnel is woefully inadequte. To see the dramatic drop off from Stingley to backup is alarming.

Coaches did not prepare these guys. It was as if they didn’t know that leach/ miss state was going to throw it a lot. Their best player, the running back, hardly ran the ball!

If you know that they’re going to pass, you have an advantage! You don’t have to play the run! Literally. They will throw it at all costs!

So this is on Pellini and recruiting. We should not have to rely on one player. We should not have to be forced to play man because coaches can’t teach zone.

Look, I’m not as knowledgeable about the LSU coordinators as the top pros here but couldn’t we find someone better than Pelini ?

Or was last year a one hit wonder where we will have to wait many years to make another serious bigtime run ?

Or are we too inexperienced and youngbon defense to pass judgement on Bo ?

Are the remaining 9/10 games just an extended Soring Practice ?

The Defense didn't do THAT bad in the first half. The problem was that they were on the field pretty much the entire half thanks to the completely f*cking inept passing of Brennan.

bullshite, I think it was like 20 minutes to 10 minutes in the first half favoring Miss St. That means the defense didn't do shite as well as the offense. Also, I think Costello had like close to 300 pass yards at halftime. That's bullshite. Even with Alabama and Texas and UF last year, neither came close to those first half numbers.

The defense forced 4 turnovers including a pick 6. Stingley didn’t play, Evans just got here. Offense has to help the defense out.

I agree with this too.

Zone Defense requieres more understanding and practice. Man isn't easier to play, but it's easier to understand.

I would think we are paying the DC enough to have at least a basic zone defense in case of emergency, but that’s just me.

BP couldn’t go to zone with this group. Too many guys missed practice. He basically had them play man because it’s all he could do. It’ll get better.

HS defenses learn to play zone.
You can’t be a P5 major college football team and not at least be able to play some semblance of zone when forced to.

And if it’s true that Pelini had installed zero zone concepts, he should be gone already.

Hell he could’ve at least dropped a LB to cut off the crossing routes, but he didn’t even try that.

Get out of here with that shite.
