Seven returning players last June hated Mainieri so much they contacted him to ask him not to leave for the Texas job when they heard he might be considering the opening there.

Are there any other reports of the team hating CPM as my friend tells me?
Idk. I know plenty of players thought Skip was an a-hole

Yet there is the guy at the game spreading this stuff.
sounds either butt hurt or doesn't understand that D-1 baseball only has 11.7 scholarships.

In other words, as long as LSU wins the west, makes it to the CWS, and wins 2-3 games there. I wonder if our fans have the same expectations in their own lives that they so eagerly place on 18-22 yr. old LSU players.
You're clueless. I had no expectations last year. Will have no expectations next year. However, this is the most returning talent LSU has ever had. As a national seed last season who only lost one starter, its normal is expect them to perform well.
For you to equate this season as an every year thing shows you're one with the lack of understanding.

" You're clueless "
Perhaps you shouldn't be calling others out if you don't realize a high number of LSU baseball fans here have high expectations for LSU baseball each season.
Haven't you heard? A NC, 4 CWS births, 4 SEC titles, 5 SEC tourney titles, and more wins in the last 5 yrs than any other program is underachieving.
"It's normal to expect them to perform well"
How much better could they have done than winning the SECW and SEC?? If you follow this forum during the season, you would think we had a mediocre season going on,

and do you have any complaints in that regard? We won the SEC Title, something we didn't do last year. We finished with a higher RPI at the end of the regular season compared to last season. And we won 2 more SEC games than we did last season.

FWIW, people bitched and moaned last year when we struggled early on, regardless of how many players we had lost from the 2015 team.

And of course the SEC East has been much weaker than the West.
well that's just not true. Maybe this year, but not over the last 10.

Vandy, UF, USCe all had some really dominate teams the last decade.

yep, in 2011 they all shared the SEC Title, all were national seeds, all made it to Omaha, all made it to the semifinals of the CWS, and South Carolina and Florida played each other for the national title.

Another moron who thinks the SEC tourney matters. Come in snowflake the sec tourney isn't the real postseason. NCAA tournament is all that matters

Anyone who thinks winning or playing well in the SEC baseball tourney doesn't matter is the real moron.
It's not surprising to see a negative LSU poster shitting on LSU sports teams success.

You post more like a ULL fan.

It's actually nothing like that.
In football you can Make the argument that we had more talent than any team in the country and yet didn't play to par.
In baseball, the playing field(talent wise) is leveled. You can make the Argument that 5 SEC teams in the last 10 years have had just as much or more talent than LSU.
Where are all of Florida's national baseball titles? They have had some of the most talented rosters and starting pitching of any NCAA team. And yet with all that talent, O'Sullivan isn't stacking national titles. And he is considered an elite baseball coach.
SAme could be said of Vanderbilt
If we are going off of roster talent, they should have more than 1 title.
Baseball is a peculiar sport. A team with a good pitching staff and streaky hitting can beat even the most stacked teams. Sometimes all American pitchers get raked. Sometimes the best hitters go through month long slumps. Sometimes the wind picks up at the right time and turns a deep, routine fly into a home run.
And nowadays, alot of those kids that played during Bertman's dynasty would never sniffed a college campus. Way too much MLB money to throw around

I think you have that backwards. More top rated talent is foregoing pro ball to play in college

yeah, i believe one of those won back to back titles, one of those against another team on your list and played in another title game? One of those played in back to back championship series and won one. but, the east has been weak.

Do we really think that a coach would let his better players sit and play the lesser ones, because they are his pets....when his whole job is based on winning

No...
Because if he doesn't win a national championship every other year the rant would want him fired
