Lot of negative vibes in this thread. And few, if any, are based on nothing more than what you "think" might happen. Whether Ed O is or is not on the LSU staff, how does this change your life? Does it matter, that much to your life?
Does having a positive and optimistic outlook on the coaching hire make you less invested in LSU football? LSU football and sports in general haven't been a determining factor in my overall happiness since I was in college. Being pessimistic and thinking Alleva and Mikes will fumble this process doesn't change that, it's just an opinion like an optimistic one. I just have very little faith in the entire staff at this point. Simply, I think Les has gotten complacent. It happens

I certainly want him on the staff because I know it immediately improves our recruiting and think it will improve our DL production. (This is more of a guess though, I have no idea if he would be better than Haley there)
I am most certainly prepared to bitch if we don't get him and don't get a very strong DC. While recruiting is strong, it is lacking in some areas, mainly North LA. Too many stories about LSU coaches hardly spending any time there. This has been Haley's area since Stud left if I'm not mistaken.

yep...the coaches couldn't even develop him after the auburn game...he was good enough in the coaches eyes to start vs. a top 5 team on the road but not good enough to get any playing time after that. Do you not see an issue with that? Keep in mind the qb ahead of him had one of the worst seasons I have seen an LSU qb have.
How many carries did LF get against Ark? Do you remember the reason our coach said he didn't get more? I am amazed some put so much trust in a staff that makes no sense...it has happened for years. See Charles Scott vs. Kentucky in 07...J. Hill last year against Ole Miss.

Unless you're on staff at LSU or an agent representing a coach, any opinion on the matter is pretty baseless
