I’d start Labas game 1 and save Hilliard for game 3. The main thing is Marceaux not pitching until game 2 or 3. If you win game 1, do you pitch Marceaux in game 3?

You give yourself the best chance to win the game you are in. Tennessee is a top 5 team. Pitching anyone isn’t a guaranteed win. Not even close. If you win game 1 with Hilliard, you pitch the best pitcher available to start. If Landon had only thrown 100 pitches in the regional and not in the final game, he would start game 1

If you don’t win with Landon and labas you weren’t going to win. Trying to sneak a win with Hillard and having those guys and needing one good game verses 2 or all the pressure on Hilliard.

Just like it was said when he held Lange from pitching game two against florida…you don’t keep getting those type of arms on campus by abusing them. If Marceaux needs another day then you give him another day. Gotta win two regardless.
