It is a thing of beauty yet simple. I can’t stop thinking about why we never could run plays like this during the Miles era.

It’s a much longer toss than a toss-dive.. Les didn’t like that.

That is because miles knew that wasn’t three yards and a cloud of dust.

Bama has run countless quick passes to their WRs at or behind the LOS and let them make plays. Finally we are getting our 4/5 * skill players the ball quickly! Love it!

Finally we are going to make Bama have to cover the whole field and they can’t load up the box anymore. No more offensive peewee football against them like the past.

It was a great play, and even better it sets up other variations of this play to go to other receivers.

Saints run that play on the goal line with Michael Thomas at least 3-4 times a year.

Miles ran those plays a lot from 05-08. Never saw them again after J. Lee’s freshman year.

I still believe that season ruined Miles.

But we ran slip and bubble screens a lot to Craig Davis and Early doucet.

I honestly thought there was something illegal about it.

It was so foreign for me to see LSU do that.

Crowton ran some of that type stuff, but it seemed he would out-think himself and not run them that much. Jimbo had bubbles and then more slip/ tunnel stuff later in his tenure.

also, Jefferson and Harris had spotty accuracy (to put it nicely) on screens. for all the shite Shep caught over his hands, ppl should go back and look at some of the screens he'd catch that were nowhere near good passes.

You can thank Brady for that one. Straight of the Saints playbook. How many times has Mike Thomas ran that route for a TD?

That is an excellent screen play but can be stopped with very talented DBs on defense. We should keep running that screen just like that until we face bama. When we get the opportunity against bama, (and they will be looking for the play) Burrow needs to pump fake to Marshall and McMath (or slot receiver) should rub off his defender to the corner of the endzone where Burrow hits him for a TD. Would be a total burn.

Exactly.

Regarding LSU not running it some years, the QB has to have a reasonably quick release and a strong arm. The ball cannot flutter out there or bads things will happen.

Because Miles has no confidence in the QB position. It’s just a guy who runs the offense, not someone who makes plays.
