Grandad, I've lived in the ATL metro area since '83. I've seen more "script A's" on cars in. The last 3 yrs than the previous 20+. I couldn't even find a bammer before 09. I guess they've taken the place of all those Gdamned FSU bandwagoners from the 90's. That was almost as annoying.

Or the Miami "fans" of the 80's.

you mean you don't see anybody flying the Bama flags from their car/truck windows? Get right out of town! Here in Mobile that has been the cool thing for hardcore gumps since 2008. I work with plenty of Bama fans and I'm tired of all the talking. Its all people talk about here. At work, at the bar, conversations on the phone, and local sports talk? forget about it. I love pro ball myself, the Saints are my team. Don't get me wrong , I like college too but it has been ruined for me the past few years. Nobody supports the small schools like South Alabama. No, they only support bama if they happen to win more than ten games a year. I hope LSU tears Alabama a new one this year.

I really only have one FB Bama friend, and I unsubscribed from his news feed update pretty much as soon as that non-game was over. He wouldn't stop gloating about it, even though he only went to Bama for 2 semesters or so before he dropped out.

Been here since '96 and I can confirm and agree.

Don't see many flags here in Ga, except for Gameday. I see simple scripts a's or the polar opposite. (which is usually the case). A pickup with the bammer vent shades and hood deflector. Camp bama stickers. Something that proclaims "14". If I ever see them somewhere and I happen to have lsu attire on, we give each other a look. Like a mongoose and cobra kind of stare. I always make it a point to tell them that, "there will be no mulligans this year" and "the NCAA has set forth a policy that the 2012 game counts". Usually, this elicits a smug chuckle. Fkin degenerates.

You probably notice it more as well. I've worn LSU stuff around Houston since I moved back here in 94. In Jan 2004 wearing an LSU sweatshirt that I had for years, some guy at the grocery made some comment to me about all the LSU fans coming out. I told him to come look at the faded sticker on my car, I've always supported LSU. Naturally you wear you colors when your team is in the title game more often.

Amen. I just had to retire my 2 rear window stickers because the purple and gold was almost white. I still have my t shirt from my first ever game in TS. September 1994- Moo St. (Kennison's 100+ yd or for Td). It looks like a hulkamaniac shirt with all the tears. Won't throw it away, much to the wifey's shigrin.

In Atlanta, there are more BAMA fans/ALum than there are UGA or Tech(seems like it in recent years). I bet if you could look up the numbers, there are more BAMA license plates than any other school.

And i work at a company that recruits BAMA for employees so i won't even get into that.

Then there's this neighbor that wears the varsity looking national championship jacket with all the years listed on the sleeves...

I tiger baited some Gump fans in Orange beach last week. Shouted out Nov. 3rd!! It's coming, we got ya'll! They didn't even know what I was talking about. Poor gumps it's gonna be so BAD when we play them

This happens both ways though. I was walking down the back deck of Sea n Suds about midday Sunday of the Hangout Festival. I had on a Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival T-shirt (non-Bama) and a khaki hat with a Script A on it. I hear "Bama sucks" from the condo right behind Sea n Suds. I keep walking minding my own business and I get a War Eagle. Three guys on the 3rd floor balcony talking s### to me when I hadn't even made eye contact with them. Auburn fans aren't normally that brazen so my money is on it being LSU fans. My brother and sister in law who live in New Orleans were constantly told back in 2007 how Saban hated Tuscaloosa and was going to leave to head back to BR the first chance he got. There were then condescending comments from LSU co-workers prior to the 2009 Alabama/LSU game about how they might have some tickets available for him to the Sugar Bowl that year. They also couldn't let their 4 year old little boy wear any Alabama stuff at the school dress up day at his pre-school as not to offend some of the LSU parents. In other words, it all works both ways.
