I am so glad I got to watch Burrow in 2019.

My child wasn't even born yet. So many kids were too young to remember. Think of all those who passed away in 2018. I was a student for the 2007 season, which was an amazing time to be alive and at LSU. I have so much gratitude for all of it. But 2019 blew 2007 away.
I have seen legendary performances from past Tigers and I expect great things from future Tigers, but #9 was the greatest player to ever don the purple and gold since January 2nd,1860. When you watch the replays, you see mastery on a level that I don't ever expect to see again, at any position, in any sport.
I have to conjure names like Michael Phelps and Wayne Gretzky when thinking about athletes that were comparably dominant in their respective disciplines. He wasn't the best by a hair; he was in a different class. The largest Heisman vote margin of victory ever. 60 touchdowns, the NCAA record. Build the statue. Retire the number.
I leave you with what I consider to be the best LSU hype video ever made: LINK

My wife was 6 months pregnant with our first child.
She was a trooper. Walking a mile back to our hotel after the game.
It was a memory we’ll never forget and we will always have a story to tell our daughter.

What a badass wife. She watched something singular and historic in person. It's like the old men who saw Billy Cannon's run on Halloween. It's a moment etched in all of our collective history, but WE WERE THERE.

He’s also an awesome dude with likability off the charts.

I personally really like Joe. But he is kind of a (justifiably) cocky dick at times. I like that. It's colorful, harmless, and merited.
I think what you heard in the Heisman speech is who he really is.

He’s a fun cocky that is really more confidence. Almost all the greats in every sport are cocky.

I'm 29 years old. I was in attendance for nearly every big game in Tiger Stadium from 2000-2015. Essentially grew up as a human coinciding with the run LSU made not only on the day we hired Nick Saban, but in other sports as well. My family is sprawled across the country. We found unity and commonality in chasing a team in purple & gold, regardless of sport, all over the country. CWS in Omaha. Sweet 16 in Albuquerque. LSU football all over the country. Hell even went to a Womens CWB Final 4.
Reason I say that is no matter how great those moments were, I will never top the 15 kickoffs in 2019. Joe Burrow was our version of "heroes get remembered, but legends never die". We were an infallible team with an infallible player. Maybe that's what the old generation felt about Billy Cannon, but that's what I will forever feel about Joe Burrow.
Tiger Stadium, LSU Football Saturdays, and the environment that creates will always get me going, but it will never be like 2019 again.

Man I got to see Joe play, a couple of scrub teams, the A&M 70 point game in College Station, LSU vs Georgia in TS, LSU Old Piss in TS, LSU Bama in TS, LSU Auburn in TS all with Joe at QB, and I have to say that was the fricking time of my life. I’ve been to plenty of LSU games but these games for me are extra special, he will forever be my favorite LSU Tiger unless my son grows up to be a Tiger, Joe is a legend!

The Burrow quote at the end and then the purple 9 over the New York skyline is just an awesome awesome awesome shot
Completely agree, 2019 is just something that will never be able to be taken away

I am forever grateful to him for the joy he brought me. I knew I liked him before the 72-74 game. He was talkin shite to Miami before kickoff. Telling Georgia who's frickin house it was. Staring down the ole miss defender after the late hit on the TD run. And all of that before he did what he did every Saturday in 2019.
So many moments where I knew that was our frickin guy. Seeing him win will never get old for me.

Mine went into labor after we walked in the Dome. Sat through the game and breathed deep like a MF champ. Son was born 5am on the 14th.
I was begging her to just get through the second half

I was a senior at LSU for 2007. My biases make that my favorite season ever, and nothing will change that. I was there for Hester's 4th downs, Flynn's/Byrd's last second heroics, went to Atlanta, and the Dome. I didn't watch another LSU game at my dad's house for half a decade after the Kentucky loss. That drove him nuts!
But yes, 2019 was glorious. I'm glad my son was already 5 and watched some with me. He wasn't super interested yet. But he knows who LSU is. He calls them the "Geaux Tigers", i.e., "hey dad, are the Geaux Tigers coming on today?"

I don't think there's ever been a more fitting time to demand pics. I'm sure the guys over on the SEC rant will be interested as well.

I moved to BTR in 1982 and have been following LSU since then. I went to every home game and the Bama game in BDS in 2019 and will cherish every minute of attendance at those games. Watching the emergence of a super star Heisman winner was unbelievable.
As people have said many times you could tell he was the smartest guy in the room, player and coach alike. I remember seeing an interview with him late in the season or playoffs and he said on Tuesdays he presented his offensive gameplan to the coaches... How many college QBs do that??
