It all depends on how big the turnaround on defense is. If we can be respectable, I like our chances. There’s a lot of guys on that defense who have played a lot of snaps and have shown to be good football players in the past.

Womack can be a very special player if they’ll utilize him. His lack of snaps last season drove me up the wall!

Dominic McKinley has some pressure to come in as a True freshman and make an impact.

On the other side of the ball, if Josh Williams and Kaleb Jackson are able to dominate the ground, we have a very good shot at every game. Especially those tricky road games at A&M and The Swamp.

Nuss just has to play safe conservative ball. Limit the picks. Convert on third downs. The run game needs to keep the third downs to short distances. If we constantly find ourselves in third and long Nuss isn’t gonna become Jayden and make freak plays every time.

Their pass protection was elite last year, but you have to wonder how many of their mistakes were covered up by Daniels' wheels. They will face more blitzing this year, as teams won't be scared of Nuss slipping out and burning them.

The OL was credited with giving up 5 of the sacks that happened last season per PFF, thats a pretty insane stat.

In 2022, same QB as 2023, Emery Jones alone was credited with giving up 5 sacks...the whole OL gave up 22 sacks.

OL had a massive improvement in pass blocking from 2022 to 2023

They have a

9-3 QB
12-0 OL
8-4 RB room
8-4 WR
6-6 DL
7-5 LB
4-8 DBs

So basically 1 championship caliber position group. Idk. I can’t see the specialness

Anything can happen if you can get in……first things first. BK has to get them focused every week.

Hopefully Oline had not been reading all of the press clippings and hype. They will be catalyst on offense. If they are really good the skill positions should follow. Assuming offensive coaching is good too. Offense with new QB and Receivers is still unknown.

Defense will revolve on scheme. There are some nice pieces on Dline and Linebacker. Secondary skill is still a little weak but assuming that coaching and scheme improves the secondary should follow suit. I wouldn’t say we’re championship level on defense yet. I’m just hoping they can improve a little week to week and avoid huge injuries. It’s still building for the future.

Not sure that we have the defense.....pretty sure that we don't have a championship defense. But, we can be a pretty salty team and make the playoffs. We are missing a corner and a DL most likely.

nobody expects nuss to run a lot. He will run when the opportunity presents itself, and because of his cannon, teams cannot stack the box.

I don't know why everyone thinks we need a running qb. We can have a hell of an offense with a qb that is smart, can read a defense, has great pocket awareness, and enough mobility to easily move around the pocket....which he does well, while still looking down the field....factor in a cannon for an arm, and this guy has all the tools to be a star in college and the NFL. Barring injury, Nuss will be a long-term NFL QB.

it is fkn laughable at this point. It is funny how some fans now believe if you can't run like a running back that you can't be a good qb. I don't see a lot of these running qbs lighting up the NFL...even Lamar is a joke in the playoffs. I'm calling right now, Nuss will be in the NFL long after JD is gone.

I can see the O line being overrated. That’s my prediction.

LOL....yes, two tackles that are both projected first round draft choices, with one projected in the top 5....while the guards will also be drafted. There are a lot of areas for concern, but OL is not one of them.

yeah, and over the last 21 years, LSU has found its way to the National Championship game. So, it isn't that far fetched. Only 1 team in college football has went to the championship game more than LSU during that time.

9-3 QB

LOL. This guy has the best arm in College football. He will struggle just like JD did in his FOURTH year as a starter (and even the Fl St game his 5th year starting) and the closer comparison is Burrow, who hadn't started until his 4th year like Nuss...and it took him more than half the year. I think Nuss is more advanced than Burrow his 4th year and JD his 4th year. We will see....but Vegas and Saban seem to think he is the real deal and that is why he is top 10 in heisman odds without ever starting a regular season game. This guy is a future star and you make it seem like he is an also ran.

By saying he is a New Year’s Day caliber QB?

He will have to prop up the skill players around him and not turn the ball over in the process. Not just sometimes, but all the time.
