I am a LSU fan - I want what is best for LSU

I don't feel like this coaching choice was the best that LSU could have realistically made.
But it has been made.
I hope Coach O goes 15-0
Next year and wins the first of 3 National Championships. I will be glad to be proven wrong and I will find absolutely NO joy if it turns out O was a bad choice.
I look at this season, and can see that in 3 of the four losses we were literally "one play" from winning each. I see we played Alabama tougher than any team on their schedule....but the old problem of lack or offense killed us.
I went into this season thinking "if Miles does truly open the offense LSU will be in the playoffs...."
I'm not so sure that Miles is that much better of a coach than CEO, all things considered. I do believe he will try to open the offense up.
Ed Orgeron is now the Head Football Coach at LSU. I'm giving him a clean slate and rooting for him to succeed because that means LSU has success.
Geaux Tigers.

i'm with ya. i'm certainly not mad at ceo, i just wanted to see an actual search done.
maybe they did one during the season and figured fisher and herman weren't that much better than ceo to constitute the price tag. idk.
i don't like the way it was all handled and am disappointed with the administration.
kick arse coach O. let's do this.

Brennan will be an upgrade.
Don't know about the Passing Skills of Scott, McMilan and Narcisse. We'll have to see what they got throwing the ball.
I hope to god that we never see a QB take the field at LSU that doesn't have advanced passing skills. Solely being able to run fast and "extend plays with their feet" (As Miles used to say) without the throwing skills is hopefully dead in this program! Don't really need flat out speed, just a little pocket mobility and quickness to go along with quick information processing skills .
And whatever QB that the HC and OC settle on, better damn well be protected by an SEC Championship OL that can run and pass block on a consistent basis without mental breakdowns against the Big Boy teams. That's not happening now and is the area where we are most deficient.
LSU has decent run blocking (Made to look better than it is by the quality of the RB's) and bad pass blocking.
Want to have a great passing game? Then recruit OL's that played in a Passing Offense in HS. Don't bring in OL's that played for a team in HS that mostly ran the football and expect them to be proficient pass blockers. That's "Square Peg Round Hole" OL recruiting, just like what we've seen with the QB's under Miles.
How to fix it? O needs to go out and hire the best OL Coach that money can buy and then go recruit nation wide for SEC Championship Caliber OL's. Just me, but I'd sign 8-10 OL's in the next recruiting class. Don't settle either for for OL's that don't belong at LSU just to say that you signed an OL. Load up on Difference Makers that can play at this level. Might have to increase your recruiting budget to go all over the country to find them, but do what you have to do and whatever is necessary!.......................

This is pretty much how I walked myself off the ledge.
Will always root for and support lsu. The choice has been made. I can't change that. And I am not going to root against the team I love to say I told you so. I hope my gut feeling about this being a bad hire is proven so wrong and I will gladly eat crow pie for years.
GEAUX Tigers! GEAUX O.

Scott is very accurate with good Arm Strength.
McMilan and Narcisse have rockets.
All 3 are dual threat QBs with above average speed and exception quickness. Scott is particularly designed to run btw the tackles on RPOs

Unfortunately it's the best our AD could make.

Did you not watch our offense other than the Alabama game this year which was a wash, since Coach O took over? This will not be the Les Miles offense under O.
We will always have the skill guys here. What I do believe is that Coach O will go hard in building the offensive and defensive line. We have to get strong in the trenches and until we do we won't be able to truly compete with Alabama.

It is not the xs and os but the billies and joes ,no foriener could guarentee that he could keep our la. recruits in the state . we couldn't keep them in the seventies ,eighties and half the ninties,in this day of the internet recruits and players are always in touch , the buttholes like sabin and bear are going out the window ! We made the proper home town choice !

This. This is why LSU, Tennessee and tamu haven't lived up to the billing--recruiting numbers don't mean as much when it's all skill position players. Five linemen on offense impact every single play. That needs to be the priority.

Coach O was the best choice after coach Miles, LSU doesn't own the in state recruits like this board would have you beleive ,we have to get out and get them that is what Coach O can do !

Just like the kid from Baton Rouge that signed with Alabama the day after Orgeron was announced. Orgeron has been recruiting this guy for at least 2 months since he was named the interim.
