You can’t argue with Vitello’s win percentage. .728 Bertman was a .729 I think

Now we know you’re a fricking idiot. You just compared that douche canoe Vitello to Bertman. One title. One. Clown

His team is tied with us in the standings and down 4. So if they’re so great what is Jay doing to have the lead? Must be doing something ok lol

Why do people take stuff so personal. They won the national championship last season and are in position to make it to Omaha again. He's also a huge douche.

Vitello won his first national championship one season earlier than Bertman did.

Everyone is different. I grow tired of the narrative that because a coach doesn’t wear his feelings on his sleeve he is a bad coach. Or less good for the team. You can make an argument that someone can separate emotion from his decisions - that’s a good trait to have.

Who cares. He isn’t even near the realm of Skip and will never be. Plus Skip wasn’t an unprofessional bitch

He good.

Jay was in the title game his first season at Arizona with the tying run at 3rd. Seems like that still haunts him, but winning at LSU has made that somewhat better for him. He only had 3 years of coaching. Both can be great coaches.

I don't think LSU fans would be cool with losing as many series as Tony has lately. I think that's 3 out of their last 4 if today holds and Ole Miss had them on the ropes. This league is a beast. I wish people would appreciate what Jay has done as well.

He built a crappy program in a much tougher league and won a national championship sooner. You can't compare a retired coach to a coach who's mid-career.

Yeah you can. And in no way, shape or form is that little crying bitch comparable to Skip until he wins like Skip won. Till he has the hardware. Swear to Buddha, that frickboi wins one title and he is the second coming of Jesus. To compare the two is just plain stupid, and there is zero bias here.

"Wear his feelings on his sleeve"? In over 40+ yrs of watching LSU / SEC baseball he's the only head coach that I can remember getting suspended for bumping an ump. And his best player was tossed for using the F word towards an ump. The Gators Sully is just as good, over a longer period of years.

sometimes I wish Jay would get fired up a little more and sling some energy however

I’ve seen Jay get into an ump’s arse plenty of times when he disagreed with a call. He was tossed from a game this year for telling an ump he had fricked us twice. He’s not just a statue.

Could Jay do it a bit more? Sure, but it’s not really necessary for winning.

Jay picks the moment. He went after Jeff head in Hoover last year. There’s a point where they can suspend you. Skip didn’t arguing much. He like Jay picks his moment.

frick off with this as if it’s the whole story. Skip took over a program playing in front of no one in a run down stadium and with NO MONEY. SEC schools weren’t brining in anything remotely close to the money we all have now thanks to the TV contract.

Why in the hell do you think every program in the SEC except Mizzou has a decent to great stadium and a winning (or at least competitive) program now when that wasn’t the case a decade ago? Same as in basketball, It’s a hell of a lot easier to build a program when you have disposable TV income and a desire to extend your schedule of sports that draw decent numbers into the late Spring.

UT was one of the schools that never cared much about men’s basketball and baseball. That changed a decade ago in hoops and after they hired Vitello and realized they had something in baseball. Now they are putting in the money. It’s just not the same thing as having to do it all from scratch on a budget 30+ years ago.
