He was before my time but I always heard about Sammy Martin. This video Harvey Williams says Sammy is the coldest baddest white boy on the planet.

Sammy could absolutely fly down the field. We didn't get him the ball near enough but we were immensely talented offensively while he was at LSU. Very similar to Trindon Holiday speed wise. He absolutely torched A&M in that 86 opener. Fun guy to watch !!

Did he make a nfl team? He definitely would be great in the style of offense everybody is running now.

6 yrs in the League, most were with New England .. primarily used as a KR specialist. You can’t coach speed.

I'm pretty sure they still are-

Tyrann Mathieu, Will Clapp, Leonard Fournette, Deion Jones, Kriston Fulton, Jamar Chase, Foster Moreau..

I thought he played for the Saints for a while. I swear I can remember Jerry Romig calling his name.

No doubt! First day of class in Fall of ‘86, I got to the classroom early and got started talking to this older 5’8” guy while waiting for the class to start. Really nice guy, but to look at him, I figured he was about 40 and had started college really late. Despite having a number of friends on the team and being a big fan, I had no fraking clue that it was Sammy until the instructor was assigning group projects a few weeks later... ??

He looked much older, but Sammy could fly and was tough as a boot!

GEAUX TIGERS!!!
