This is the part that gets me as well. It also leads me to believe this was not Woodward making the decision as none of his other hires even approach the type of hire McMahon was.
I believe the LSU BOS had just went thru a two year hell with football, had fired Orgeron and hired Kelly in the process, and was scared shitless about football continuing a downward spiral should there be any type of sanctions. The portal was 90 days old and an NIL plan was still being formulated. In some form this had to have affected their thinking and we ended up with a panic hire that hasn't worked out.

Im not trying to pimp for Woodward, and maybe Im dead wrong and the McMahon call was his doing, but judging by the hiring of Kelly, Mulkey, and Johnson, I don't think it was and I expect him to go the route of a bigger name with a better resume with the next MBB coach.

I go back with LSU football and basketball at least as long as you do motherfluckin YODA.
