Schiano- Bridge hire

where. in the hell. is the name greg schiano coming from? why would he even be mentioned? based on what? the fact that everyone thinks hes a prick?

he was at rutgers for 10 years. he won the big east 0 times. he tied for 2nd twice and was in 3rd once. he had a 28-48 conference record. even if you take away the first 4 seasons to build things up, he was 25-24. in the big east.

in his ninth season he was 4-8, and they didn't even play a single top 25 team all year. they only played 12 top 25 teams in his final 6 seasons, 7 of which were ranked between 20 and 25. he went 4-8.

so, hes never done a thing AND people hate him. what exactly is the attraction here.

Add Brian Kelly to your top list. He would be my #1.

And when Dave Brandon gets the boot, the offer to Miles can be AD and Head Football Coach. 4-5 years as coach then die a Wolverine.

he'd be even worse than sumlin. i was just looking at the lines for this weekend and Baylor at -8.5 and a total of 79 vs West Virginia is amazing to me. i actually expect WV to win outright, and they could hit that over in 3 quarters.

Sumlin is not a good choice. He is showing his UH 2.0 tendencies this year, cause when his awesome offense meets a legit SEC D, everything changes.

This is correct. Miles has never been offered the Michigan job...he wanted an offer, and would have probably taken it if offered, but that offer never came in either 2007 or 2010. He tried to use the media and Michigan fans against Brandon in 2010 ("Miles will take Michigan job if offered"), but Brandon didn't flinch and the PR maneuver failed, although Miles is getting the eventual last laugh on that one with Brandon probably paying the ultimate price for siding with Carr and against the wishes of Michigan supporters. And the only way he potentially would get an offer this time is if Dave Brandon is fired. Even then, he probably still wouldn't get an offer, but it becomes more of a possibility than it is with Brandon in charge. There is bad blood between Brandon/Carr and Miles. Carr holds a grudge with Miles for the situation with Gary Moeller's wife, and the feud between Brandon and Miles intensified with the 2010 PR game of chess. A good portion of Michigan's fanbase wants and has always wanted Miles, but politics have stood in the way of it ever coming to fruition. Look for Michigan to hire one of the Harbaughs or Greg Schiano. Only after that group says No (and Schiano won't say no) would Miles potentially come into the picture. I really like Miles and I'm super appreciative of his accomplishments at LSU, but make no mistake - miles would have and will bolt for Michigan in a heartbeat if ever offered that job. That offer has just never came......yet.

so the Michigan Jet in BR was just a causal "hello, how ya been?" detour?

Seriously.

I would offer up his replacement, Kyle Flood way before Schiano. Rutgers just seems like a better program since he left.

Listen to the first question in the first 90 seconds of this clip (particularly the offense) and tell me he wouldn't be a good transition. Kyle Flood on his program

Hell, I don't know if there was any offer in writing to Miles or not, but I'm pretty sure the Michigan plane wasn't in B.R. almost 2 days so those on board could check out the local seafood.

Plane leaves and the next day, or so, Brady signs on with them. You have to be more than a tad slow on the uptake not to note the Michigan interest in Miles....offer on the table or not.

Not one of those coaches are gonna leave that school to come to the hardest division in the hardest conference in all of cfb.all those schools could match any offer lsu made. Maybe Rich Rod would leave but that's it.

Sumlin is being exposed now with no Holgorsen, Keenum and Manziel. He's clueless defensively as well............

That's always been my question when folks say Miles has never been offered. It is almost assured that when a team sends a plane to a 'would-be' coach, it's so the 'would-be' coach can ride back with them.

At the very least it's a way of saying "we're offering you the job" without actually saying it. It's not just so they can talk about the job description and ask the coach if he's interested. They can do that over the phone without burning a gazzilion dollars worth of jet fuel.

Do people look at the ages of these so called "Miles Replacements?"

Briles is 59
Dantonio is 58, etc

Those were good names in 2010, and maybe if Miles were to leave this year. But they're not good names when he retires a few years down the road.

Delusional to think any of those coaches would consider LSU.

Why would Briles, Dantonio or Shaw leave their teams? Those fans revere them. They ain't coming here to get shite on by our fanbase the first time they lose a game.
