But I don’t think even he could possibly shite himself as much as Auburn’s 3rd baseman did

You mean the guy that hit a homer and another rbi to give them the lead?

Talk about choke city. Reminiscent of Ar-Kansas in the second game of the championship series last year.

He also had 3 RBIs so yeah. Hughes would have never done that.

Neither would Chris Reid

Which is why he should have been playing over Hal Hughes.

Chris Reid had a better fielding percentage and a better batting average by 81 points.

Hal Hughes does not field well enough to play while batting .174.

Chris Reid more than made up any separation defensively by being competent at the plate. He also had a better fielding percentage than Hal Hughes.

You’re all good here.

Hughes is undeniably a better defender. I just didn’t think there was anyone disagreeing with this position

Side note: my official guess is that Hughes is going to hit well in summer league (again) and start the season at SS...and everyone will melt

They both shouldn’t have sniffed the field in an LSU uniform.

Hughes wouldn't have made my high school team. He is that bad of a hitter.

And you got almost all upvotes for saying such an idiotic thing.
You don't understand defensive statistics.

Hal Hughes errors were base hits against Chris. He also played in much closer because of his lack of range and they still bunted against Chris much more than Hal and he still struggled fielding a bunt. I loved the guy but he was a liability in the field and on the base paths.

That is exactly what is going to happen.

what is well for Hughes? like .225?

I just don't understand how he stood out enough in high school to warrant and out of state scholarship from LSU.
As someone else said, he wouldn't have started on my high school team, and that's not an exaggeration.
