Would recommend downtown Greenville for a few days / nights leading up to game.
That will be your best bet if restaurants / bars walking distance from hotels is what you're looking for.
Closer to Clemson there is Lake Hartwell and Keowee, plenty of recreation areas and state parks in the area if Hiking or Camping is more of your thing.
Also some fun golf courses in the area, Walker Course is on campus and open to the public. Very pretty course and not overly expensive.

Downtown Greenville is fantastic. Stay there.

The Waterfalls downtown are cool, hour-hour 15 min drive to Asheville, BMW Museum, The main street area of Greenville has some nice restuarants, limited hotels and very pricey.

Clemson is a great college town.
Esso club is an attraction.
Downtown Greenville is a great nightlife.
See if you can see Doug from Cravin Melon!

Greenville is awesome, if we go to the game thats where we'll be. Have a friend who is a big Clemson fan from that area

I live here in Greenville and highly recommend you come up. Downtown is amazing. Happy to give you some tips if you decide to come too. Will be nice to actually have some LSU Tigers in town!! Too much Clemson overload lol.

Listen to him. Ashville and Greenville. SC is great along the coast. Not much Inland and stay away from SC BBQ sauce lol

Definitely stay in Greenville the days before - great area

Charlotte airport is a bit closer if you want to fly direct. But it is also easy to connect through Atlanta and quick 30 minute flight into Greenville. Makes the return flight easier leaving from Greenville imo

Stay in Greenville SC. It's about a 40 minute drive to the Clemson's main campus but there is a lot to do.

Greenville is very nice and very clean but not really all that memorable. The golf and hiking is absolutely spectacular though through that whole region. (Western NC in particular, though I haven't been since the apocalypse.)
And if you have a weakness for the morbid Clemson used to be home to one of the worst titty bars in America. Tiger Tails, FTL. (Not sure if it's still open.)

Planning on attending the game - any hotel tips would be helpful!

Everyone has pretty much nailed it, but either do downtown Greenville or get a lakehouse near Clemson. Tons of beautiful VRBOs that will be perfect as it’s always hot as balls that first week.

Don't leave the Clemson campus without seeing the Football Practice Complex. It's the best I've ever seen in person!

Greenville is great....one of my favorite towns I travel to. Don't let the people fool you about Asheville. It is a completely woke place...if that's you...all the power to you...I stay at the Cambria Suites there...it is very nice and very reasonable price wise....hell...I stayed at the Cambria in Columbia earlier this year when I went to the South Carolina game...and the game day crew was there minus herbie.
