Other teams have multiple double digit homerun hitters

LSU might have one

Why is that? Could it be we hit into a 20mph wind every game? Need doubles hitters not slappers..example Briggs had 68 hits and 23 RBI’s, Gueterriz had 60 hits and 42 RBI’s 8 less hits but 19 more RBI’s

slappers are fine to put stress on the D, get on and steal and let power hitters knock them in.

a true slapper who can soft slap, hard slap, drag bunt then swing away also.

did ours suck that bad? did our swing away hitters suck that bad? did we have poor OBP? all depends on weaknesses of team.

Gotta have someone on base to hit in. Briggs led the team with 44 runs scored. Gutierrez scored 27. Slapping will always have some part in the game. Especially when you can't recruit the top boppers that Oklahoma does.

I have been to old Oklahoma park and it was home run derby…wind straight out much of the time, just the opposite of our park. I remember watching the game vs Stanford and they were saying Stanford and LSU had the least home runs at their parks in the country. 1 part was pitching but the other is the wind blows straight in most of the time

Doesn’t make sense and frankly classless for folks to pile on a guy who by all measures busted his tail for LSU for 13 yrs or so and 4 World Series. I think thank you and good luck would be appropriate no matter how you feel

“Spending more time with family” is code for being told “it’s time for you to move on,” a directive no doubt originating from the Athletic Director’s office and not the softball HC’s office.

Exactly.

He is retiring to spend time with his family and watch his son, who he has had to miss most of his games over the year while dedicating his blood, sweat and tears to LSU.
