Answer however you want because it will never Be proven wrong because no NFL team would ever be that dumb

Atlanta hired Petrino

There have been MANY coaches hired in the NFL that had no business being hired.

Miles would do well in the right situation but it ain't happening, so no use to discuss.

Les Miles wins on talent. He would not succeed when coaching where the parity is so high.

While this thread is obviously 100% about speculation and opinion. This is the most correct answer IMO. Miles has succeeded at LSU in large part because the teams he has fielded have had a decided edge in talent. This cannot happen at the NFL level. At least not for very long.

When the other SEC West teams recruit well, as they have recently, his W/L record has decreased accordingly. If Miles has to rely on having a better gameplan or scheme than the opposition, he is in big trouble.

In the NFL the margin is so razor thin. The winning formula is almost entirely great quarterback play and better schemes. Les has proven woefully inadequate at both.

The coaching egos are worse in the NFL. No coordinator would want to work under him
Ridiculous and unfounded comment. If anything, Miles has a track record of working great with highly regarded coordinators, and managing egos well.

He definitely could be a playoff coach with the right front office. He brings in good coordinators and lets them do their thing, while he handles the bigger picture issues. He does a good job of keeping things level and focused, so he'd be able to handle an NFL season with it's ups and downs.

I actually think he would do well. I think his philosophy and ability to get the players to play for him would work well.

He would be fired for clock / game mismanagement. That crap doesn't fly in the pro's.

Well, it's true, as funny as you find that. Sure, talent at key positions will affect any offense or defense, but we're talking about the NFL here. He would have a QB at least as good as Flynn, Mettenberger or Russell; and when he had those QBs here, his offenses were potent. What's more, those offenses were pretty different from each other (different coordinators); so again, he let the coordinator do his thing. Same thing on defense- Pelini and Chavis ran different schemes. About all they shared in common was a desire to blitz and clog up the inside run.

Contrast that approach to Saban's, where the defense will always be his own, and the offense is run-heavy with a play-action passing game.

Again, Miles in the right place could be very successful. He wants to manage the team, not play chess on every down.

Poorly. He's a player's coach that thrives due to talent. Not saying he can't win due to that, but he won't be successful doing it. He would be a Belichick without the results. Guys would buy in for a few years but the results wouldn't be there and he would suffer.

Belichick is great because guys buy in, he knows his weaknesses and he doesn't meddle with those. Les wouldn't do that. He would be alot like Josh McDaniels. Players would run through a wall for him year one and then the wheels would come off.

Source: Me. I don't know shite. Just speculating.

True, but with the personnel available you can win with a meh QB in the NFL. He wouldn't be horrible but he would be the definition of mediocre in the long haul.

It depends .

I think he could do well if he had a good GM. He is definitely a players coach, and that goes a long way. I don't think he takes over the offense as much as people say he does. With a good coordinators he could do well.

Miles would suck in the NFL....can't find a decent QB at the college level, can't stand to throw...you have to be kidding me......if you mentioned his name to any NFL owner you would be laughed out of his office.....hell, his Alma Mater didn't even want him...they were waiting on Harbaugh the whole time...that deal was done weeks ago...
