How would everyone feel if we made a run at bringing Kevin Steele back?

He wasn’t the most popular pick when he was here but he always has solid defenses and he recruits well. He runs a 4-3 though which is a problem with our personnel. I’d love Todd Grantham or Jim Leonhard but those are pipe dreams. I could see O looking to the NFL ranks.

Steele sucked at LSU. He clearly is working with the perfect mix of staff, scheme, and players to cover his weaknesses but he’s not a “big money” DC at all. Let’s get someone who’s actually elite if Aranda leaves

Why is Leonhard a pipe dream? We can pay him twice what Wiscy wouls cough up. That’s how we got Aranda.

steele actually has had better PPG rankings at auburn 3 out of the last 4 years than aranda here. i posted it awhile back. aranda beat steele in PPg in 2016. but 3 years after that steele has a better PPg at auburn. just sayin! neither are bad coordinators. both are good.

Should Coach Aranda leave, I think he takes Bill Busch with him to be his DC....I wouldn't mind if Corey Raymond gets promoted here.

I wasn't crazy about him when he was here, but I will say that his defense this year was the only defense we played that looked like an old-school SEC defense to me. Those were some hard-hitting bastards. And I do have to give him credit for holding us to 23 points because no one else could stop us from scoring.
