How will this impact LSU on the road? I thought artificial noise was prohibited by SEC

Jordan-Hare Stadium is widely regarded as the one of the toughest environments to play in across the entire SEC, and it might get tougher ahead of Auburn’s game with No. 18 LSU on Saturday.
Rhett Hobart, Auburn’s deputy athletic director for external affairs and chief revenue officer confirmed on social media Tuesday night that Auburn’s marching band will be mic’d up during home games beginning this weekend.
“Our team did a deep dive into music the last few weeks and has a great plan going in - created in direct partnership with our band,” Hobart wrote to X/formerly known as Twitter. “The band is being mic’d, beginning this weekend through new dedicated field level band speakers.”

If it’s against LSU, there are no rules apparently.

Tennessee fans are ewwing and ahhing all about how loud it was vs Bama. All I heard was the loud speaker. Same at Ole Miss this year. Loud speakers way too long.

The band is probably better about knowing when to play and when to stop playing than a DJ would be. So just amplifying them doesn’t seem like a big deal.

The LSU DJ plays music much louder than LSU band and has gone to the snap.

I am pretty sure its allowed to amplify the band but they have to stop as soon as the center lines up over the ball (which is the general rule for bands).

I’m sure that’s what they’ll say it’s for. The truth is that it’s just a way to artificially amplify the crowd noise. You’re crazy if you think they’re going to mute that mic when their band isn’t playing. Funny how they’ve never done it before but decide to start for the LSU game. Maybe we should follow suit. It’s not like you can hear Tiger Band half the time because of the blasting music.

Why do people still feel the need to say this...
