That immense success u refer to has absolutely nothing to do with the state of the program now. If he contiunues on this path, he will NOT be remembered fondly.

When did i say it did? The state of our program right now doesnt erase the success he has had in the past. If that were true then Bobby Bowden and every coach that was eventually let go was a shitty coach. I knew this bullshite would happen. Now somehow miles' entire tenure has been mediocre and under achieving because instead of top 5 finishes we are now having top 15 and top 20 finishes.
Its time to fire miles but that in no way means he wasnt a great coach for us.

And thats all im saying.

Please explain how that is at its apex? This program wasnt at its apex until 2007.

Ok I will.

Won the natty in 2003. Had loaded recruiting classes every year. Had #1 overall pick at QB in NFL draft. All-Americans at nearly every position. Look how many players went into NFL from 2001-2005 recruiting classes (and even now)

Was absolutely AT THE TIME LES TOOK OVER at its modern day apex. Les did a good job for a while of maintaining that and even building on it.

Ed: recruiting , not draft

I agree Rick but hes dragging the program down NOW and u know as well as I this will be his legacy if we dont get him out of here quickly.

No no we didnt. He had all but given uo recruiting his last year. So much so that we didnt have full recruiting class in 2004. I swear its like some of you have totally forgotten the Saban era. If lsu was at its apex when saban left then its at it apex now.

Saban had 1 top 5 finish. The last 5 years under miles we have 1 top 5 finishes.

Saban's tenure=16 losses 12 conf losses
Miles last 5 year= 15 losses 12 conf losses

So if saban left lsu at its apex then lsu is still at its apex.
Id love to know what math you use to have lsu at apex with 1 top 5 finish in 2 decades.

As someone who consistently achieved less with more talent than most.

Do your argument a favor and stop making it sound like miles is better than Saban. I think we can all agree that if Saban stayed here, he may have had at least one or two successful seasons.

Thats all i was saying. I responded to a poster saying miles is a shitty coach for lsu. Regardeless of opinion no one can deny that under miles lsu reached heights that we had never been before. You know ive repeatedly said i would give miles this year and then decide. Well yesterday was the end. Its time we move on. That doesnt change what he did at lsu.

Im really worried about putting the hire of a new coach into alleva's hands.

He currently is. His refusal to change is killing the program.

The mistake youre making is thinking what im saying is an argument. Im stating facts. Saban at lsu was no where near what saban is at bama. Saban walked into a program littered with future nfl players and some of the best players,at their positions, to ever wear purple and gold and lost 3 games every year but once. Did you forget about Saban losing to UAB at lsu? You need to stop acting like Saban at lsu was the same guy thats roaming Bama's sidelines. Plenty of lsu fans were down on saban when he ws at lsu. Like miles he seemed to lose games that he shouldnt.
And before you make the dumb decision to say Saban didnt have talent whsn he got here you need to look up the talent he had his 1st 3 year.

Of course miles walked into a better situation but dont act like saban walked into a program woth no talent.

You really don't understand the difference in building a powerhouse and maintaining one. As and job was much harder than CLMs

A shitty coach doesnt win 9- 10 games in the sec west. Sure he hasnt adjusted. That doenst make him shitty. A shitty coach loses to mid majors or goes to overtime woth mid major programs. Even today Miles isnt shitty. He isnt the coach for lsu but that doesnt make him a shite coach

Yes and I appreciate him for it but the team has been on a steady decline since 2011. At what point do you go in a different direction?

As goofy as this comparison may seem, I equate him to Jimmy Carter. I have all of the respect in the world for him as a person but as far as the job that he's assigned to do, his weaknesses have become glaringly apparent. Plus, Saban and Bama have become what Iran was to Carter...the kryptonite that ultimately fueled his undoing.

He may ultimately prove me wrong and I hope that he does. However, just like Sean Peyton with the Saints, you can't help but have the feeling that events of a few years back just sorta sucked the life out of both of them and that they've been running on fumes since.

Having stated that, I'll always appreciate what he did for LSU and the community...and I'll pull for him and his team if he ultimately ends up elsewhere.

You are, though. To compare them, you have to ask yourself what Saban would have done if he stayed.

You're exactly 100% right. He's changed. A lot. Something miles refuses to do. He thinks what worked in 2007 still works in 2016.

Its common knowledge that maintaining a powerhouse is far harder than buidling one. My god. Even saban admits this.
whats harder to do?

Win 14 games once or average 10 wims for a decade?

Whats harder to do?

Have 2 #1 recruiting classes or 8 top 5 classes?

Anyone with minimal knowledge knows maintaining a great team or program is harder than building one. Thats why its so hard for nfl team to keep winning for a 5 years.
Thats why so few program can win 9 games every year for a 5 year stretch.

As much as you post you should educate yourself.

. You're still hedging.

Why should he be fired now?

You're trying to simultaneously argue that there was nothing about the last few years to indicate he was a problem AND that yesterday was the last straw.

It's just like last night. And I tried to get you to specify and you went ghost

Yet. Every time, you've degraded into insults.
