I just hope LSU fans do a better job of showing up when we play Oregon. We are going to need to turn JerryWorld into "Tiger Stadium West."

While I think you are overreacting to the fan turnout in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl, it is pretty much given that we will have better support for many reasons.

- Opposing team is traveling across the country not across a state
- Labor day weekend
- 8+ months to plan instead of a month
- A matchup of top 5 teams instead of top 20 teams
-LSU won't be playing following a disappointing loss
-I'm assuming it will be cheaper for tickets. It was $30 for student tickets in Atlanta this year for the UNC game. I would expect it to be more expensive but not $125 like the CB.

I'd say 60/40 Aggies

I hope you're right, but if history is any indicator, LSU will only bring 15-20k to the Oregon game. Oregon will bring the same amount, coming off a natty title run, and there will 20,000 empty seats in an 80,000 seat venue.

I would say 2/3 to 3/4 aggies. I was honestly impressed with the noise they made. I see why their stadium is considered top 10 (behind #1 LSU of course).

What history are you talking about?

There was talk that LSU brought 25k+ to Bama in 07 even though LSU only received 10k tickets. Dallas has a large alumni base and LSU will have tons of tickets to distribute.

The Athletic Dept. needs to evaluate how the LSU fan base was treated in this entire bowl deal. Announcing one team 11 days before the other is unfair (selling all the suites and RV parking before we even knew were in). The SRO deal was also lopsided. The reason LSU was less noisy than usual was the students did not go. The tickets were too expensive and they did not want to go to Dallas.

College Station is about 3 hours from Arlington, so it is not like Baton Rouge to New Orleans. Sure Aggie fans are closer, but LSU should have traveled better.

bad comparison. College station is small and in the middle of nowhere. Not many graduates, if any at all, live in CS. Most live in Houston or DALLAS...

LSU traveled very well considering:

-A&M knew a week ahead of time
-A&M has 50,000 students, that's a lot more people and alumni that can buy up tickets in that extra week.
-It was in A&M's home state, close to almost all of it's alumni base.
-This game was huge for A&M, whereas it was a consolation prize for us. (would have been in new orleans had we not choked against Ark.)

It was NOT 70% aggies maybe 60% but more like 55-45 aggies. The entire side of the stadium was LSU the other side aggies with the two end zones mixed with more aggies. My group that went even talked about it. LSU was def out numbered but made alot more noise. I still can't talk. hoarse

You are delusional.

Look, I love LSU. But I have been to several away games and we do not travel well. The majority of the posts on this thread say the Cotton Bowl was 70-30 in favor of the Aggies, and that is a very good estimate.

I hope we pack JerryWorld for the game against Oregon, but I have a feeling I will be disappointed again. I estimate 20,000 Tiger fans will show up on Sept 3rd, and that is pathetic considering we can pack in 92,000+ for a home game.

Just curious, but what road games have you been to? I've been to about 20 road games in the past 6 years and I've always had people commenting on how well we travel.

Judging by the color the fans were wearing I would have guessed 90-10 A&M. But I'm sure it was more like 80-20.

Seriously, they outnumbered us by a vast margin.

I agree totally. Sounds like Pete wasn't at the Cotton Bowl and hasn't been to many away games. My buddy and I walked around some just before the game started and both agreed the split was around 60-40 in favor of the Ags.

I love going to LSU road games because the folks that travel are the diehards and really bring it!
