Cost Harris as well, a 200 yard game and he could have been 7th

Thanks, love the connection with Rashard !

Too many drinks back in the day , heck that's when I was in school . I guess I remember the prolific offense more than the D.

Imagine what Fournette's numbers would be if Miles would call... and Harris could throw... a few 5 yard passes to the FB per game.

its not enough but Fournette did average 3 catches for 49 yards in the last 4 games. 12 catches for 195 yards and a TD.

Six of the top ten total offense QBs belong to Miles teams.

Three of the top four yards gained per play belong to Miles teams.

Three of the top five yards per game belong to Miles.

I thought Miles teams always sucked on offense.

I was going to say the same thing. A LOT of miles led players are on those lists - particularly look at PATs made per season/game. I'm not an advocate to keep or fire miles, but this is interesting.

a few things to keep in mind:

1) bowl stats weren't included in season totals prior the 02 season. so a few of those rankings/ numbers are off. for example, in addition to the point I made about Rohan missing passing yds from the 01 Sugar Bowl, Faulk is missing all purpose yds from the 96 Peach which would put him at #2 all purpose.

2) with the exception of his first year in 05, all of Les' teams have played 12 regular season games, which obviously helps in the totals columns. and of course 07 and 11 played 14.

all that said, Fournette had an insane year.

thanks!

The last stat on penalties- imagine the impact if we were a team that led the conference in fewest penalties

This is coachable

I was only 7 years old but 1977 looks like it must have been a monster year on offense.

Well the highest penalized team won the NC so there is that.

Penalties is not a great indicator of how well a team is coached. Several teams (CFB/NFL) have high penalty rates yet are very successful.

Without question Neal's breakout year was coaching by O

Without question? No.

2015 was the first year Neal got to play DE. Last year we needed him at tackle. He showed freakish ability before O showed up. I'm not implying that O wasn't a positive influence; it's the "without question" I'm taking exception to.

Jeremy Hill would have been on pace to get 2,100 yds in a single season. Amazing what he did with 203 carries. This is assuming he would have gotten 300 like Alexander and Fournette.

I think the 794 penalty yards stands out the most. How many points were lost because of a stupid penalty? How many drives stalled because a 2nd and 3 turned into a 2nd and long? These things can change the outcome of a game or two as well as the entire season.

Think about this LF7 goes over 2000 if a player lines up on the line of scrimmage. How many more yards were called back because of holding or illegal formation.

It's amazing what competent QB play can do for you.
