Orgeron has a little more motivation now.

Not at all

He will stand on his ability to win, not ridiculous fodder that comes from the rantards.

Expectations are sky high this year, no extra motivation is necessary.

if 0 doesn't win 10+ games a year every other year, he should be fired.

preferably, 10+ wins 2 out of every 3 years.

If Saint Jimbo doesn't win 10+ games in '19 should he be fired?

Answer: HELL NO - he has a gillion dollar buyout engineered by the new Golden Boy AD-in-waiting.

Too damn funny.

There are 5 active coaches that have lead a team to a NC ring. They are currently at Clemson, Alabama, Texas A&M, Kansas and North Carolina. Which one do you expect him to sign in 2020?

I said "championship level" not a "coach that has led a team to a championship.

So if we don’t reach the playoffs, or come damn close by going 11-1 and just missing out this year, and then go 7-5 next year you wouldn’t call that getting a “legitimate shot”??

That's a legit shot.

my reaction was not really about the 11-1 expectations cuz that's what I expect as well, it was more a reaction to the sudden attitude across the board that since we are getting a new AD that O should somehow be on the hot seat.

So there are fewer than 5? I am not sure how this statement helps your case.

How can a coach be championship level if he's never competed in or won a championship?

Anything less than a playoff spot and he should be gone after this year. We are ABSOLUTELY LOADED everywhere.

I love absolutes with no context.

What if we go 11-1 with our only loss being to Bama in OT by a point cuz Bama went for 2 in the first OT.

And Clemson, Ohio St, and Oklahoma all go undefeated and your playoff consists of:
1)Bama
2)Clemson
3)Ohio St
4)Oklahoma

Does O still deserve to get fired?

I am not saying this will happen, I am saying that you can't deal in absolutes like that when talking about sports. There are to many variables at play.

Uh, that’s not a “sudden” reaction from me, Bert

It's just the O-Hater's wet dream. Pay no attention.

Let me clue you in on a little secret. If ole nicky had stayed for now his 20th yr at LSU, we would have 8-12 nattys including or excluding any absolutes you talk about. There are only a handful of fb programs that are capable of doing what bama is doing now and we are one of them.
LSU should NEVER win less than 10 games a yr, should be in the playoffs 75% of the time, and should win it all 30-45% of the time. And before you think I expect too much, Jimmie Johnson agrees with me.It's all about getting the right coach in here, and O and Les weren't it. I have profound optimism our new ad will address this at the proper time.

Just to add: I have BLED p&g since 1978. I want to be so wrong about O, but I know I'm not. He is Les part II. Will avg 9-10 wins per yr, and will need the odd yr where the natty champ can lose 2 or 3 games (not likely). I was pulling like HELL for curley, and I am pulling for O (and yes O is way better than curley).
