I thought about killing myself immediately after the game.

I will have to listen to soma crap at work for then next week... but other than that, not really much at all. We knew this was a rebuilding year and if anyone was in denial about that, shame on them.

Unfortunately, a lot. Then, all day Monday, all your friends at work want to talk about the game and you have to rehash the same things over and over. In addition, living in Lafayette with a lot of UL-L fans, they rejoice in LSU losing and don't miss an opportunity to let you know. By Wednesday, reality sets in and I begin to realize it's just a game played by 18 to 22 year olds that probably could give a shite about LSU fans because all they're thinking about it is their NFL possibilities.

I look at it differently being a coach.

You can have good practices, a good game plan, and proper preparation. Players still need to execute, and coaches need to adjust, and so on and so forth.

Plenty of blame to go around, and I'm sure everyone directly involved is angry and pissed. I think the fans constantly attacking the coaches and players is horrible. They are giving their all. I also hate the cherry picking.

I sleep in my LSU room for 4 days with my LSU sleeping bag and don't talk to my wife and kids until after the Les Miles show on Wednesday, where Jim and Les soothe all my pains away.

It used to chap my arse and ruin my week, but after my mom died I grew a pair and realized that it is just entertainment when all is said and done.

I would agree with several others who said after 1/9, it doesn't affect me anymore. Like I was actually depressed for about a week after that game. That was when I realized that I needed to take a step back and not take football so seriously. Now when we lose, it's just comical.

That game was it for me. This kind of stuff doesn't irritate me at all since then.

The program's making money, has winning seasons and wins most bowl games. The smart people know that this is all that the AD is looking for.

I actually feel better off when I am not inclined to give a shite how the team does.

I've learned to roll with it over the years.

When I was in college it was a whole different story. Now, I just sit back and try to enjoy the game. The talent on the field and the female talent everywhere else.

SPF hit it on the head....totally numb since1/9. That one game zapped most of the passion out of me for lsu football that I once had.
It was an epiphany of sorts. I realized at that point that as long as Miles was here, we were going to run an uninteresting and unimaginative offense that tries to grind out victories. It works sometimes, when u have superior talent. But now the other SEC teams are catching/wising up and know how to attack our weaknesses.
We won't change....this is who we are. Look for much more of the same moving forward.

All of this. I have season tickets but Miles just makes me numb to it. His idiocy has taken away my passion.

Speaking of passion, that is the one thing that I have noticed about Miles. On his radio shows and post game interviews you never hear any passion from the guy.

He sounds like he's just going through the motions every time I hear him speak. If that is how he is at practice and halftime, then it explains a lot.

It's an investment in entertainment. So I spent about $170 yesterday (parking/ticket with fees and refreshments) to watch crappy football orchestrated by a guy making $4 million/year. I think the collective minds of the Tiger Rant could have produced a better game plan for free. So that's kinda unsettling to know that the team I cheer for and invest in has an unsure future.

I guess it's like buying a bad stock from a company you have some brand loyalty or emotional attachment. You hope beyond hope that it turns around, but confidence is slowly eroding.

If that makes any sense.

I let go in 2010 after Les and company made my life miserable. I laughed last night and turned the game off in the 3rd quarter. I would never have been able to do that a few years ago.
