How many years does Van the Man have left at LSU?

When he first came here, I figured maybe three. But watching him at the game last night...he has more energy left than I thought. More importantly, he seems to fit in here really well and he loves being here.
I'm thinkin another 5 years maybe.
And I know its women's basketball, but if you dont care about it at all then just ignore it!

Van is doing a great job with the womens squad. I went to the first game of the year, and to see the improvement he has gotten out of the freshman is just amazing. This team will be a contender in the future for sure and Van definately has some pep in his step.

What's the recruiting looking like for the ladies? Any potential superstars committed?

I know they have a good juco center coming in along with a good pg from florida, but next year is where La/our pipeline schools are loaded.

He did an outstanding job this year...better than most would have expected. I hope he stays for a while!

He was jumping around after one call last night, and his movement/lack of movement even though he was trying to jump around made him look a little old. He's a great coach, though. And it's obvious he loves it here.

Don't shoot the messenger here, but a friend of mine plays college ball and she said that a lot of girls don't want to play for him because he's an old man.
I personally like the guy.

Well, they should realize he's not an old pervert. They could learn a lot about the game playing for him, more than someone who hasn't been around awhile like him. He treats his players like he's their dad.

Nah. Look at Connecticut. Maybe it wouldn't be her cup of tea, but we'll get players who like his system, or like LSU, or want to be close to home, or whatever...
I do think he got along better with some of last year's seniors, like Q Chaney and Erica White (both of whom I think will become coaches someday) than he does with the younguns, but that will improve.

Well I wouldn't have wanted to play for old scraggly Sue Gunter, but that's just a personal preference.
I don't think him being an old man will hinder the program any.

Yea, the center is Jasmine Nelson who's currently at Trinity Community College. She's 6'2" and was a JC all american last season if I'm not mistaken. She's originally from New Orleans.

Actually, Webb is more of a wing / slasher. But she's a great defender and great off the dribble.
The guard from Florida is Bianca Lutley. Currently the second rated "point guard" in the ESPN 100. She's actually a combo guard though and is a great scorer and passer.

Not possible. If so, he wouldn't have been able to pull in the second best recruiting class in the nation this past summer. Even though some of the freshmen didn't get a lot of playing time, believe me................there's a lot of talent on the team currently. They will be a final four contender next season

Geno is 55.
Van is 66.
Van looks fine to me. Don't know if he'll want to coach into his 70s but, he certainly doesn't look ready to give it up any time soon.
