It looks like we dodged the bullet by missing out on Fisher and Hermann.
What has Fisher done at A&M to make you think he wouldn't be successful here? I do agree about Herman though.

I’ve aaked 2 people what compliments they had over this past offseason, and nothing. Do you want to save them here? What ya got?

I'm not sold on Ensminger yet. I question some of the play calling, but, 3-0 is 3-0 so...

Time to get won over or get run over! Go Tigers!

I thought he called a good game. They were obviously not showing anything against SLU

Not just O, but the true fans on this board shouldn’t give a shite if these dumb f*cking idiots (who suck at life) are won over yet. Just enjoy the season watching these kids working hard to make this a special season.

If O is Able to keep guys who aren’t sure fire first rounders or day 1 and two picks we can be really successful moving forward.

I wasn’t insulting you, just suggesting that you think past what you are displaying here. It’s fine to have high expectations. But if youve thought the team & coach suck all offseason, expect to be called out when you try & hide behind the guise that you expected 10 wins. FOH
This hasn’t been your shining moment BOX that’s for sure.
Do yall really not understand why people were/are saying 10-2 is the expectations?
Here ya go...
"Negatigers" believe, even before the season, that this TEAM is easily capable of 10-2 (which is very obvious at this point). So those were the expectations for the TEAM.
Many were skeptical that O could pull that off. BUT if he is a good HC, like so many argue, 10-2 is the expectations.
So, to recap...
Team Expectations - 10-2
Team Exceptations w/O - who knows...

I can’t speak for them. To me the best thing (by far) was adding analysts to the staff. On the staff hires it’s a mixed bag. I did like the Cregg hire at OL. I will give O credit for cutting bait with Canada since it didn’t work though I’m still very skeptical of the SE hire. I was skeptical of the ST coach but the ST do seem improved beyond just Tracy. If nothing else kicking out of end zone Is a massive improvement

You’re generally pretty fair (with a negative lean), but your post is refreshing to read.
Do you like what we are doing in recruiting?

Won over is a big stretch. Happy. Hopeful.
I'll be won over when he wins a National Championship.
If others feel the need to crown him just cause the team won a game that hey it needs to win and more to come...than that's on them.
Again I'm hopeful. But won over forever and a lifetime contract is a bit much at this stage

You just said we don’t have good/elite talent at CB
we don't have depth of that caliber
Greedy is awesome
Fulton is coming around (and i said earlier we got super lucky he was ruled eligible)
then there is a big drop off (for this year, at least)
Posted on 9/17/18 at 10:24 am to Laman1978
i was won over some more by Aranda. that is all

we said this 365 days ago and it didn't happen. we can't count our chickens until they hatch
that's not a slight on O as much of a statement about recruiting in 2018

Now you're a flat our liar. Did you just skip over my post where I answered your question?

are you advocating for a strategy of relying on transfers to stock key areas like QB, WR, DT, OL, etc?
Nope, I'm advocating for a strategy that gets the best players available by any means necessary, just as every other coach is doing.
quote:
where did i say "Oregon can't develop"?
You implied that he is covering a coaching deficiency with transfers, yet "his" players are contributing to the big wins right alongside the transfers. A freshman OL came in Saturday and cemented an already strong OL performance against what was considered one of the best DLs in CFB. Multiple young DL contributed from a recruiting class that was criticized for being below LSU's standards, in a game where DL depth was a key. That's a huge statement about evaluation, coaching, and roster management. At least be consistent.
quote:
and would be 3-0 without Burrow? i specifically said that without Burrow we'd be possibly facing that 5-loss season and when we got him, that was highly unlikely. however, on the same note, i also said that relying on having a QB transfer in to save us every 2-3 years is not sustainable
Who gives a shite about hypothetical losses? Burrow is here because the staff successfully recruited him and budgeted a scholarship for him. They have a young QB behind Burrow and two more committed for successive years that are well regarded. The notion that O and Ensminger will rely exclusively on transfers QBs is a strawman. No one is throwing in the towel on highschool prospects, but if it makes the team better I expect the coaches to be open to transfers. They were and it was 100% the right call.

It's weird, this non acceptance of the HC is happening on a larger level in the political realm and it's fascinating. If people don't get their way...

What are you calling "acceptance?"
Everyone has to approve of Orgeron? No dissent is allowed?

It is odd how after a win a certain segment of the fanbase is frothing at the mouth for praise to be heaped upon the head coach.
