We arent getting Saban back. Let it go.
I think part of not getting Saban back was an "integrity" issue.
He pulled some shite at Miami and hurt his credibilty.
Its hard for a University to take someone like that, because at the time he was a wildcard. Bama had sucked for many years and were willing to sleep with the devil to get their program back on track. It worked for them.
Theres no denying he's a good coach but I think LSU didnt want to take that chance with a decent coach already in place.
Had Saban came back and screwed the pooch here then LSU's program could have taken a major hit and ended up like Bama did for years to come.
How many of you Saban worshippers would have then been up in arms of how stupid LSU was to hire him back??? Seriously.
Some of you here are the smartest people alive sitting in the backseat and observing.
Thats my theory...

Urban Meyer and Pete Carrol disagree. Saban blowjob parties are held on the SEC rant gump.

If Miles cannot get us into the SEC Championship game consistently, then let the axe fall on him and the season. I'm sorry, I'm spoiled by the consistent winning years durring Saban's and also Miles's time at LSU. These past two seasons aren't good enough for me. Blame it on Perriloux, dual defensive coordinators, young quarter backs and not "not invisioning" that the clock would be a factor at the end of the game, it's all on Les Miles. He picks them, he coaches them, he makes the game plans.... So, if we can't win 9, then let them lose just enoug to se Les move on.

The reason why? Well because Bertman and Richard wanted a yes man and not a championship caliber coach.

I'm not trying to choose sides but here is a direct quote from Bertman "people will not remember me for all of the national championship I brought LSU but for the next Head football coach I hire" I doubt he put his name on the line to avoid hiring the best coach for the job just for a "yes man" but conspiracies are always fun too

Well, if 8 wins is good enough for you, You'll likely be very happy. Look how fast we slip from thinking SEC Championships and NC's to less than 9 wins is good enough. I'm sorry, if that is all we can expect, than it's time to move on in my opinion.

Look at Smoke Laval. Did he have a horrible record at LSU?????? NO, he did pretty good, but he wasn't getting LSU into the NCAA Tournament consitently, and the program was sliding backwards. Now, why would we settle for less in the football program?

you're right of course, and the LSU commits feel the same way.

back to the 90's with no recruits and tuberville or another 2nd tier coach driving the bus.

I'll type slowly. No...one...thinks...8...wins...is...good....enough. No one is "accepting mediocrity" by supporting Les Miles. Bottom line is i will never hope LSU loses for any reason...and to do so is pathetic.

Did i think Smoke should've been fired? yes
Did i support him while he was here? yes
Why? Because i don't have the power to hire and fire.

So please, tell me....what exactly are you doing to ensure that "9 wins isn't good enough"?

That you would take a 6-6 season just to assure he leaves?

My take is you aren't a true backer of the school and it's teams to ever want them to lose for any reason. If Les is to be replaced it will happen in due course. Then again he could reel off three or four double-digit win seasons in a row.
