all but 3
so you'd rather have 3 baseball NCS and 1 basketball NC than 6 baseball NCS? Sure...that's logical

Face basketball is behind Football and Baseball as far as popularity at LSU.

LSU has around 7000 season ticket holders and last year avg. 10,373. average was 12,034 for SEC games. That was with a down SEC, a new coach, and few block buster games at home.
If trent can put together a few consistent years and not the roller coaster like the brady years...our season ticket #'s will rise.
If basketballw ould have had another stellar year this year...the PMAC will start feeling up again...just needs al ittle consistency.
Baseball fills upt he stands because the fans know the product going on the field will be a good one. Basketball even the die hards don't know if it will..so you aren't going to get the avg. fan to drive up for a game. But if they knew the product was going to be a good one then it would feel up.
As much as baseball tards want to believe it..basketball is 2nd...and yes..even at LSU...LSU bball just needs the consistency from the team to prove it.

Saying you'd trade the achievements of an elite program (lsu baseball) for a subpar one (lsu basketball) is an absurd notion that cheapens the achievements of both. Stupid thread

LSU basketball will be popular if we can get a consistently good team. I think with Trent at the helm we will starting next season.

I think people forget way too easily. Hell, I'm only 31 years old and I still remember in the mid to late 80's when the pmac was packed and alex box had maybe 1000-2000 fans at a game.

agreed.

baseball is a niche college sport...so i'll use another school and it's niche sport to prove the point that a national sport is always more important than a niche.
Tenn Womens basketball was bigger than the mens team...Pearl got there..got a consistency good product on the floor..and I don't even think the attendance figures are close anymore. But say 10 years ago you ask majority of tenn fans what was more important? They would have said the niche sport...and even though womens ball was one of 2 premier programs..it couldn't compete with a good product and it's popularity.
LSU baseball is about as high as it's going to get...while bball can only get bigger.

I would trade one baseball NC for one basketball NC, simply because I'd like to see the basketball team win it all once.

That aside, I would prefer to dominate a lesser sport than to win it all once in a more popular one, and I think it's better for someone to say "LSU owns college baseball in its current era" rather than "oh, remember that one time LSU had an NC in basketball?"
