True. They don’t have to report these numbers.
All of those schools have rich boosters. However, most also have much smaller alumni bases to draw from than big-time P5 schools. They aren’t poor by any means, but they are dependent on a smaller pool of donors to give big all the time.

Utah doing the most with the least.

LA is a great state to live if you’re rich and don’t give a damn about things like public schools. It’s the middle class that is taking it up the rear here.
I agree with you. The private schools are great for raising families. The families are mostly level headed, full of humor, and down to earth. I would hate to live in a corporate big city jungle. Corporate people are so uptight. Entrepreneurship here is where it’s at.
I recently hired someone from out of state (Los Angeles). Loved all his life in L.A. He LOVES it here, and he is learning about the history and culture. He is an LSU fan and went to a couple games last year. He tells me stories about what he learned from select experiences (swamp tours, museums, festivals, famous restaurants). It makes you realize the good things that the state offers.

For $618 million over that length of time we have a lot of championships to show for it, but facilities are ancient.
Just became a fan last week?

The frick does this even mean? lol. If LSU is in that position, yes, they're super rich. They're separated by close to $150 million to the university who this board says can just buy off everyone in Louisiana over LSU as if we don't have the money to fend anyone off.
Looking at that booster list...LSU is rich and among the elite. It just goes to show you what we've been trying to tell this board you guys really are clueless. Just because they're not out in front doesn't mean LSU lacks big donations from names you never heard of. LSU is in direct competition with the universities associated with oil rights from big donors which according to this board, was impossible to compete with on a money level.

I am a little surprised by this.
Alabama boosters spend more money under the table than on the table

People that think LSU doesn’t have deep pocket boosters are really ignorant. Lots of old money that lays low. Especially from oil. The modern day personal injury attorneys are just the flashiest
First, I'm not seeing any private schools on there.
Second, people always boast and puff their chests out about their university's endowment. They can't seem to grasp the concept that LSU alums and fans largely donate their money to TAF and athletics, not the university. The two are not one and the same.

I agree with all this except I'm not sure I'd lump ND in as the dependent upon the small pool of donors. Could be wrong though. That said, they've got a shite ton of money - probably as much as Baylor, SMU, and TCU combined.

I agree. They were the reason I said “most” and not all.

Basically that the LSU boosters will spend money on the programs because the fact that everyone enjoys LSU and LSU being so good makes it more enjoyable for them, much like a big party. I.E. Todd Graves and the jell-o shot challenge. Sure it was good marketing, but what LSU fan doesn't know about Raisin Canes?

I was kind of surprised with how low and how high some were. Knew Oregon got some money but didn't think it was #1.

Oregon and Ok St are as high as they are for one reason- sugar daddies. Phil Knight has used that Nike money to bankroll everything Oregon has done for the last 30 years.

More data to support the notion that the 2 Mississippi schools should merge.

Nike (Knight) didn't start dumping (big) money into Oregon until probably the late 90's.
Oregon wasn't shite for the 20th century. Basically considered a cupcake.
Football: Rose bowls- went in 1957, didn't go again until 1994. Then 2001, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2019. Fiesta in 2002, 2013.
Basketball: won a national title in 1939, next won the Pac in 2001-02. Oregon made the NCAA tourney in 2013, 14, 15, 16; first time in their history they made it 4 straight seasons.
Baseball: they dropped it completely in 1981, didn't resume until 2009.
Track and Field
Mens Indoor national champs: 2009, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2021
Women's Indoor: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017
Men's Golf- 2016.
They have other titles, and you can see the same pattern... a couple here and there, and then a huge surge in the 2000's, particularly after 2010. That's ALL Nike.
