He should be kicked off the team. Kick Montgomery off for being crazy, too.

There wasnt even a "hit", he reaches out and grabs him, trys to spin him around to not block in the back ... Stupid play but no hit nothing dirty. Im sure it'll be all over youtube and most will see much ado about nothing!

Lighten up Francis. He will not be suspended for a holding call.

No.

You're a douche.

Seriously though, he didn't lock his arm around Dre. He didn't throw him to the ground. Where is the dirty?

Literally just watched that play, with sober eyes now. Not ejectable at all. And if Dre hadn't hit the turf so hard, this would be much to do about nothing.

I'd imagine no suspension, because it wasnt a personal foul, and if you watch it, wasn't even that bad.

I was literally rolling on the floor at Gary Danielson carrying on about how that was horrible "1960's style football."

It was a dumbass

You don't get ejected for holding. It wasn't even a personal foul. Quit being a jackass.

Well, there were six of us in the room watching the play and the replays. All of us are LSU fans. We all thought it was a pretty damned bad play. I'd like to see it again this morning.

You may be the dumbest poster I've ever run across on this board, and that's saying a lot because I myself am pretty stupid. Ejectable offense? DIAF

I say probably one half of LSU vs Ole Miss. Might get more just because he has been such a trash talker this year and has played dirty. He probably should have been ejected last night.

The penalty was not as bad as it looked in real time. I was of a like mind after the play and the first couple of replays, then I saw the reverse angle.

This is what I saw on the reverse angle in slow-motion - Mathieu was reaching, which was bad technique because of the angle he had, and was making, what I think now, a great effort to initiate legal contact, that is contact to the front of the shoulder pads - it looked like a punch at combat speed - after contact (they were both going full speed) the action just continued and he basically made a tackle - I don't know, muscle memory or something.

It was not a situation, at least I don't think, where he decided to take Dre out - it was ill-advised and unnecessary. The correct play there (he was beaten) would have been to pull up and let OBJ run Dre into him.

Agreed.

I thought it was terrible at real time, but after replay it's just an unfortunate event. Dumb play. Not dirty by any means. Dre just fell poorly and had his head hit the ground. It's terrible for Dre, but still... not a dirty play.

Also, let's please not set a precedent for suspending players bc the result of the play was worse than the process by which it occurred.
