6 hours from BR. Once you get north of Meridian, grab a Monster. And yes, always cops, especially the further north you get.

6 hours? Hardley. State is the closest sec school. Try 4 hrs. Its not that bad. Mississippi does suck though.

yes its boring, but the second you cross over into Miss you'll notice how much better the roads are built and maintained.

And some of you think Louisiana is a real prize? Mississippi may not be great, but LA ain't got a whole lot more.

It’s only about four hours if you go through Jackson instead of a side trip to Meridian.

If you like pine trees along the interstate, then this is the drive for you!

If you're leaving from BR, you shouldn't be on I-59. Take I-55 to Hwy 25 in Jackson. This coasts directly into Starkville.

DO NOT SPEED THROUGH CARTHAGE.

Or go I-55 to Winona and take Hwy 82 for about 45 mins into Starkville. It's a little longer but about the same time as the Hwy 25 route.

If you go through Meridian, HWY 45 is patrolled pretty heavily by HP.

Lots of pine trees. But if you are from New Orleans right after you cross the state line it is like driving in the mountains.

Be careful with the speeding, Miss state troopers don't have white cars like you are use to looking for on our roads.

If you obey the law, you should not have a problem. Try leaving early, take your time, and enjoy the trip. The competition is on the field, not racing to get there hoping you don't get a ticket.
