re: How is LSU only -2.5 vs UCLA?

I stopped reading this thread around middle of page 2. Everyone saying LSU is easy money and may “put 5 figures on it” clearly don’t bet often. LSU -2.5 or -3 seems like such the easy bet to take and all the homers and occasionally betters will take it. This line is fishy as frick. If the line stays where it is, UCLA is the play for me from a betting standpoint. Probably a no play for me because I want LSU to win, but I won’t be surprised if they lose strictly because this line is so low

If you bet on LSU, you thought you were betting against UCLA. With new OC and DC in their virgin game, instead you are betting that Orgeron has great organizational skills and is a great leader of young men - that Orgeron is a head coach along the lines of Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney, and Pete Carroll.

BS! Anyone that doesn’t take this action at -2.5 hates money!
Don’t listen to all the amateur prognosticators out there trying to make sense of a UCLA team beating an LSU team that has superior talent at EVERY position! Not to mention a team that is battle tested from playing season after season in the SEC West (not the PAC 12) and loaded with 3rd, 4th and even 5th year players. Yes, we have some new coaches & coordinators, but they’re not the average coaching hires. And the players will be playing in the game tonight, and now for a major cause: Their people of Louisiana that have just been devastated by Ida.
So, can UCLA win? Yes, but it would take a near perfect performance and lots of breaks to go there way, and in very unusual 95 degree heat that just crept up for this weekend, which benefits LSU. Lines making is all about finding that very slight edge, and this line is so off, probably 4-6 points off, which is a colossal edge! So if you have a source, give the 2.5 and really enjoy the game tonight! Geaux Tigers!

Was MSU better last year than UCLA this year? I doubt it since MSU was downright awful after the LSU game last season.
Facts are this is not a strong LSU team yet. This is what you get with O as head coach. Little to no confidence in his teams. They may shock you, but perception is he got lucky once with Brady and outside of that has been atrocious with hiring.
Now with having to revamp the staff for a second year in a row and with two coordinator hires, they are expecting failure.

wrong
fishy would be if LSU was favored by 14 or 17 etc.
then you can take UCLA and the points.
i took LSU and ML -138.

so because line is low and realistic you stay away? because they say it will be close due to line does not mean it will be. there is a way better chance of LSU winning than UCLA. bet ML then. u stay away from all close line games? you realize it is harder to cover a bigger spread right?
would you prefer having to cover a big spread or have a -880 ML instead?
your thinking is way off man.

Am I missing something? It opened at 4.5 and moved to below a FG.

I might put five figures on this. This is the easiest money I’ve ever made. LSU is easily three touchdowns better
