Dawson, Lochridge, and Wofford are all athletic, rangy guys
Deichman & Fraley fit the same profile.
Paps is pretty much the prototypical catcher
Freeman and Duplantis have had great, great years.

Our offense was amazing because we had guys who Had fast hands and hit for power.

Nothing that I've seen from wofford says athletic. He looks slow and looks like he still has baby fat. Lochridge I haven't seen enough of but I know he was good before he got hurt. Dawson is sitting the bench for a reason

Deichmann and fraley are the types of players I'm talking about. Except Deichmann can't play defense. But athletic guys who can hit and have good speed

Almost every pitcher has regressed at times this year.

So you just want 5 tool players? I'm sure Mainieri agrees.

Jesus Christ we have some of the worst fans just a couple days ago aome people were talking about this will be coach PM best coaching job in 45 years, no one expected us to even get to a regional besides actually being a top 8 seed and hosting one. The series is not over Lange threw good pitches and they just hit him but he def wasn't on his best and scoring 6 runs with Lange pitching is usually all day a "W". We have athletes also on the team I beleive we are 2nd or third in stolen bases in SEC. Yes athleticism usually starts with speed too so just relax if we come out and win tomorrow. You got to start Poche, anything can happen game 3 , although I must say I would be disappointed if we went 0-2 after the stretch we had to end the season. Win or lose future is bright

Also didn't we lead the SEC in hitting and runs scored in conference play.
We played like crap tonite, but this one game doesn't define our season.

I want guys that have the frame of fraley and mahtook and not guys like Bryce who look like we picked him up from bogies or Kramer who we picked up from middle school.
I'm done arguing it's pointless. Rosters like this won't win championships especially with a thin and inconsistent staff.

Yes. And our pitching was in the bottom half. Not "lights out" like you said in the other thread.

You're saying you want big athletic guys who run well and hit for power. Everybody wants those guys. Most of them are in the majors, though.

Totally agree double B

Why can't we get guys like Leon Landry, Jared Mitchell, Chad Jones, or Mikey Mahtook, anymore? Guys that played multiple sports in high school extremely athletic and have pop in there bats all had damn good arms too.

You want 5 tool players. Everyone does.
Also, all these home runs CC is hitting likely won't be home runs in Omaha.

Because those type of athletes are few and far between.

Mikey was a 5-tool player. They are very rare. I don't understand how y'all can't comprehend that.
Jones and Mitchell were originally on football scholarships.
Leon was average at the plate.

Our pitching has been lights out for the last 3-4 weeks. That's was the time frame in the discussion.
Go look at our ERA and note how good it was. There is no debate about it. Doug Thompson was talking about it on the radio.
Posted on 6/12/16 at 12:08 am to Mickey Goldmill
Jones just pitched for the most part.
Posted on 6/12/16 at 12:08 am to YeahYeah
Except we had al those guys on one roster the same year. And I see Florida and Vanderbilt have guys similiar to those types of players yearly
