Who did Newman play for the state Championship his senior year? It was at the PMAC. He was at the free throw line with no time left on the clock and the ball rolled around the rim for an eternity.

You sure? According to that SI article linked earlier in this thread, Randy fouled out of his last championship game with 4 minutes left.

pretty sure we'll see him coaching soon.

according to this site, you're right

I thought he was quarding rashard lewis at a basketball camp the two were counselors at.

Seriously though Shaq not a top 5 selection of all=time players at LSU?

ball skills of jason kidd and the strength and size of a younger Magic...somewhere in between...a NBA hall of famer and a college all-american....he was THAT good!

espn classic re-aired the mcdonald's all star game with henderson and livingston. Dickie V couldn't stop talking (as usual), but this time it was about how great LSU would be for years to come with those two dynamic guards.

Also, Livingston vs. Vandebilt's Andre Brown at Nicholls State gym was an incredible matchup.

Livingston was no where near as big as Magic, but he was a much more explosive player.

He was guarding Shon Tarver.

And he's now going to be doing basketball camps in South Louisiana in addition to pro coaching.

Here is the website for his camps- Randy Livingston Basketball Camps

In his last game, If I recall, he hit free throws near the end of regulation to send the game into OT. He later fouled out I know for sure. I think the game may have went to double OT. What I do remember is him being on the sidelines and during timeouts coaching up his teammates.

Correct, he willed his slow white teamates to win the game in the end. Don't be surpised to see him one day as an NBA head coach.

I said strength and size....meaning he was dominant in those categories over the players he was going against; of course he was not 6-9 and he couldn't play center...he would have been as dominant on the perimeter....I saw Andre Brown play for Vandy Cath., put up the easiest 36 I have ever seen!

For the record, Randy 3-peated in high school. He won state his sophomore, junior and senior seasons at Newman.

He was also Gatorade Co-player of the year nationally his junior and senior seasons. Junior season he shared it with jason kidd, senior season he shared it with Rasheed Wallace.

I played on the team with him his senior season. He played like magic johnson. Was a natural leader who made his teammates better, passed and scored. Best player I ever saw.

Out of district, our coach scheduled mostly 4A and 5A opponents and we only lost 5 games total that season.

He fouled out of the championship game our senior year with 5 minutes to go in regulation. We ended up winning against Port Barre in Triple OT.

donkey, help me with this if you remember. I was at the Sunkist Shootout vs. New Iberia. I think Randy may have fouled Chris Manual attempting a last second shot from about half court to put him at the line. He hit whatever was needed to give NISH the win. It's been a while, I may not be accurate on this info so any corrections would be appreciated.

he was not guarding Iverson. He was guarding Shon Tarver, who later played for UCLA.

Stop with the Iverson stuff. It's wrong info.
