Once in Jackson take the Lakeshore dr. exit turns into 25
quote:It's the LAKELAND Drive exit; not Lakeshore or Lakeside. I drive it every day. Traffic on Lakeland for the first 10 miles or so after you exit off of I-55 can be pretty bad from about 4pm to 6pm weekdays - especially this Friday. If it's raining it'll be worse. We usually go to Starkville on Lakeland/Hwy. 25 because it's a little shorter, but sometimes we go 55/82 just to avoid having to go down Lakeland Drive during times when traffic is likely to be bad.
Actually its Lakeside just making sure folks don't get confused.

Just depends on how far you would estimate getting to the end of the earth would take, because that is where Starkville is located!!!
...says the poster from Albany, La. [I had to look it up on Google maps, only to realize I'm only 35 miles away.] Starkville is a hell of a lot easier to get to than Fayetteville.

I never said that I lived on the Earth, just said Starkville is at the end of the Earth and yes Fayetteville is also off of the Earth!!!!

Directions to Starkville are easy. Drive North til you smell it, then east til you step in it.

All dirt roads lead to Starkvegas. A close reading of this ancient proverb reveals that the only road(s), literal and/or figurative, to Starkvegas, are dirt roads. As such, there is no option for speedy highway or Interstate travel, so as Josh suggests, leave tomorrow by 5 and you'll be there by kickoff.

While we are talking quickest routes... how about the trip from BR to Philadelphia, MS? I was planning on taking I-55 to I-20 to Hwy. 15. Is this the easiest/quickest? thanks

You should update your maps. From St.Tammany it's four lane interstate or highway the entire drive. Once you get on I-12 headed toward Slidell and I-59, there is literally two stops (stop signs, both on Hwy-45) before you get to campus. It's an easy drive.

Brookhaven is less than three hours from Starkville. Baton Rouge is less than 2 hours from Brookhaven. It's definitely less that 5 hours. Lakeland Drive/Hwy 25 has a lot of stop lights in Jackson. If it is a busy time of day take I-20 to airport road and take that to Lakeland/25 to Starkville.

Don't forget though it may take over an hour to get near the stadium. If your driving up Saturday morning your possibly gonna miss the kick off.

goona take the hwy 25 route, leaving around 7am, going to check-in hotel in coulumbus first, then its off the the pasture.

I was told to take I-20 past Airport Rd. and take Hwy 471 to Hwy 25. Which way is quicker. How is Hwy 471? Many traffic lights, 2 lane, 4 lane?
