One bad year?
Before missing the postseaosn altogether in 2006, 2005 was the first year ever that LSU missed a super regional.
The program was on a clear downward trend with Smoke and Mainieri turned it around just as fast as Smoke crashed it.
Once again, it's astounding how stupid and short sighted you are.

What do you think the 2007 season looks like if Smoke was retained? Remember, Mainieri went 29-26-1 in 2007. Smoke went from back-to-back CWS appearances, to missing a super regional, to missing the NCAA Tournament. How do you think that happened? Bad luck? When Smoke took over we were 1 year removed from a CWS title.

Once again I never said that and I never insinuated that. I haven’t criticized CPM once in this thread but you and the other trade keep saying I have or I’ve compared him to Smoke. Both are not true, what I said was to the OP and that criticizing CPM is not allowed on the Rant and that he’s the only coach above question in LSU history on the Rant. So you and the other internet police can keep twisting words and lying but you haven’t been right about one thing yet.
