The stats I posted were that in the CPM era we’ve made the World Series at a whopping 5% higher rate than the Snoke era. So no he didn’t build the program from scratch he improved it. You’re acting like we were a perineal doormat and now we are winning World Series ever other year. Like I keep saying false narrative. Class dismissed.

speaking of false narratives...

There were 6 contributors from Smoke's 2006 team that were still there in 2007. Only two of those players remained in 2008. Not a single contributor from his last CWS team was still there in 2007. A college baseball roster has 35 players. So you tell me what building from scratch is if that isn't.

Smoke went twice. 2003 and 2004. He was 0-4 in Omaha. In 2005 we lost a regional for the first time ever. In 2006 we missed the post season all together. The 2007 team was a rebuilding year with a new coach. By 2009 there were very few "Smoke" players left and we won a title with a new coach. Then he got lazy, too (admittedly). By 2012, he was working hard again. Got a national seed, something we would get every year from here on out. 2013, 2015, and 2017 saw trips back to the CWS with some huge disappointments. These are the facts.

I am no PM apologist. I am critical of his in-game coaching. I am critical of his "gut feeling" approaches to pitching changes and lineup moves. I think he overcompensated after 2013 and the new TDA park. But that doesn't mean that he didn't rebuild a program that was headed downhill fast.

We were snubbed in 06 too but that’s for another thread. Or is it?

Our leading hitter in SEC play was Stephen Waguespack and our leading pitcher was Derik Olvey with a 5.40 ERA...

We didn't need the post season.
