Dude beside me was beating the hell out of his seat while Fricking anything that popped in his head.

We had a very polite, fun Bama couple in front of us. Some 25 year old started calling her a fat bitch.

Of course it has relevance. Pride in homeland is a very emotional thing. Not saying war = Football....just making the point that people do seemingly silly things when their emotional, and pride drives those kinda of emotions.

And what do you mean "you people"?????!!?!???!??

It can be embarrassing. I hate when our fans bash our players. As far as the game is concerned, I do feel we brought a little league game plan to the world series. Alabama did what everyone thought they would do on defense and we were clueless to that. On offense they did what we should have done. This team was champion caliber, they proved that when they beat Bama the first time round. It does suck to go out that way. At the end of the day it is just a game though, and time is too precious to spend it depressed and pissed off over a football game. Time to move on.

My reaction was the same every time Jefferson ran out there to begin a drive

I kept saying, "he's doing it, he's doing it, Les is really fricking doing it"

"it" being riding down in flames with Jefferson. Seriously didn't think he had it in him

Your original quote:

quote:

Soldiers have fought and died being driven by nothing but pride in their homeland for thousands of years.

Then:

Of course it has relevance. Pride in homeland is a very emotional thing. Not saying war = Football....just making the point that people do seemingly silly things when their emotional, and pride drives those kinda of emotions.

Um, what's seemingly silly about dying for your country?

quote:

And what do you mean "you people"?????!!?!???!??

You people.

I can't stand to watch a football game in that enviroment. I was angry and emotional to, and it was NOT an enjoyable experience. It was just a football game. I LOVE LSU. I LOVE LSU football. I LOVED this season, I really thought we'd go down in history. I had a blast. But, some things need to be taken into perspective here.

You guys familiar with the coliseum in Rome? How many fans have been killed at soccer stadiums? This is mild.

That was pretty much it. Obviously everyone was pissed off. And I was sitting in the student section so of course there was lots of profanity and yelling at the coaches and JJ. Pretty much felt like a normal home game when JJ sucked.

I try to watch myself if there are kids around but I was in the student section last night and lost it

I was pretty speechless for most of it. I've never supported the booing or JL chants so I didn't take part in those. As frustrating as it was I tried my best to stay supportive of this team. They did too much this season to be bailed on by their fans in the NC game.

I really don't understand it. I get the feeling from a lot of people on here that they would prefer a season like last season (10-2 winning the Cotton Bowl) than the season we had this year. Regardless of what happened last night, we had one of the greatest seasons this program has ever had, yet people are now acting like its the end of the world.

Some people don't have anything going on in their own lives to be proud of, so they latch onto the most successful thing they can find that takes the least amount of effort.

In this case, it's the kids and coaches that make up the LSU football program.

And the person who gets the most hate in a loss where the offense didn't produce will always be the QB. Jordan Jefferson was always going to be limited as a QB. He was an athlete to begin with and just happened to play QB. River parishes schools are not great QB schools, almost exclusively relying on power running games. Even when Perriloux was in high school, nobody I knew was particularly wowed by his passing ability.

So we have a school with top notch talent all over the place and quarterbacks who have been coached poorly in a system that doesn't allow them to really get any better. Perhaps Mett will be the exception, but I don't see Miles changing this unless he looks inside himself and realizes that he is a much better recruiter and manager than he is an offensive coach. If he doesn't want to feel this way again, then he needs to go out and find an offensive coordinator he trusts to come up with the offensive gameplan, whether that's Stud or someone else.

If I were him, I'd be looking at some of the west coast teams and try to pick off one of their young up and coming coaches. The problem, except for the QB position, has never been one of talent or want. It has been poor recruiting at that position and poor offensive game planning.

These people act as if they personally played last night and lost. It sucks to see your team lose, but I'm not gonna break shite and whine about it.
