re: How did you react to the "pseudo" loss to Tennessee last year?

The thrill of winning in a crazy fashion always supersedes what happened before that. LSU was about to lose to Kentucky in 2002, and all of the people I was watching with had left the room...and then I got to run in and tell them what they had missed. That was an amazing feeling.
Against UT in 2010, I threw down the remote and was just shocked. Then I saw the ref with the headset on and thought...wait a minute...and then we win. The feeling was still amazing. I watched it over and over again on the DVR. It was that compelling.
At the end of the day, it was Dooley and UT looked foolish and pathetic, and while LSU got some bad press for the lucky victory, no one was talking about that following the 11-2 top 10 season. All the talk went from "how can Les be such an idiot?" (okay, maybe not all the talk, or even most of it) to "wow, Dooley and his staff sent 13 guys out there. That guy should be fired."

This is false. They still bring it up - it's like a joke that never gets old with Les being lucky, etc.
ETA: It's old with LSU fans, but not the rest of the media world.

I listened to complaints. Lots of complaints. Some were valid. Some were not valid.
I read posts on this board. Lots of posts. Some were valid. Most sucked arse.

I left my house and jumped in my car to go to the store as soon as the snap went by JJ. I was cursing and slamming the steering wheel. Then I turned on ESPN radio and heard we won. I turned around and hit the back button on the dvr to see it. Couldn't believe it. Drank heavily and celebrated.

I did not leave that game with a good feeling, even after we won. I was so fricking pissed at the fact that we had YET AGAIN horribly mismanaged the clock while Crowton fumbled through the playbook looking for the best trick play he could find....I am getting mad right now just thinking about it. Ugghhhh!

My dad left the sports bar in disgust before he knew there was a flag thrown. Drank a ton of liquor and passed out on the bed not knowing LSU ended up winning until I came home later that night.

I started screaming NO when I saw three players coming on, three going off....
This x1000. I started yelling "WTF are you doing, run a f*cking play" over and over again, louder and louder until I sounded like 13 year old Bieber fan shreeking....my neighbor came over to see if I was OK because I was living in Cali at the time, and he didn't know there was a game going on.

it got louder as the seconds ticked away

so bad I scared the dogs under the bed
and as someone else stated, it was far from my best moment

Exactly, I hit a point where I couldn't yell louder, but was still trying to and I was just shreeking at that point. How my TV survived, I'll never understand. When the game ended, I just calmly turned off the TV, walked outside and turned on the BBQ as if nothing even happened. A few of my neighbors were outside just staring at me without saying a fricking word.

I just kicked my blue tick hound thinking about that play again. F@#% Smokie! It is stuff like that that makes me worry about shite teams like WVU. My bud says we are good for at least 2 losses a year under Les and when stuff like this happens it sure is hard to defend his arse...although alot of us do;
but still...

No excuse for the coaches doing something ridiculously stupid, but in a way in succeeded, it did have Tennessee superbly off guard. And it then left us plenty of time to regroup.
I am sure that was our plan all along

That's the whole point of the thread. Looking back on all the stories of how you reacted to the "loss".
Yea, just pointing out that for many the feelings after the apparent loss have remained ahead of rational thought. Shows how much it can sting when you think your team lost in such a horrific ridiculous fashion.
Personally, it was such a ridiculous scene before the snap I was looking for the flag. I thought at the very least that one of the Tennessee guys was offsides while running to or fro. So I never felt like "we really lost" or "we didn't deserve it." I just felt we did something really stupid, trying to confuse Tennessee, and in spite of the bad play call it worked and Tennessee was confused. It became a mulligan and the game ended as it should have.

I started screaming at the tv and running around the living room in a cuss filled tirade that scared the hell out of my wife and our dogs.
My wife told me to get out of the house. I ran out into my yard cussing and called one of my friends who wasn't watching the game.
I started to explain what had happened and my wife came out and said, "The game is not over".
I said, "Honey, it's over, believe me". I had seen the final score and Dooley running out on the field.
She went back inside and came out and said we were about to run another play. I said "What the hell?"
Hung up on my buddy, ran inside and watched the last play.
I was happy we won, but was still pissed because we were so unorganized at the end.

CROWTON'S BEST TRICK PLAY EVER.............disguise himself as one of the tn coaches and send in too many players

I muttered "I cannot believe he did it again. He really did it again."
There is no excuse for the repeated failure to effectively manage the clock in late game situations. The execution during the waning moments of that game remains an affront to all reason and competence, even if we were miraculously rescued by Tennessee's stupidity.

Stormed out of stadium shouting "this is the worst EVER" over and over again. Was in line to get on the elevator to leave the upper deck and people started running past me. Told my wife "there must be a fight". Guy behind me in line had headphones on and said "we get another play". Ran back up ramp just in time to see the play run. Left my wife standing there by herself. Never said a word. When I found her later, she was pissed.... but happy that we won.
