Both Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee never developed into team leaders

Jarrett Lee developed into team leader and had it stripped away from him.

I dont get this, it really was a 3 year stretch. I dont count 08 cus i dont see how you can have a freshman developed when you had put ur eggs in the rp basket. Which cant be faulted when hes been touted has one of la hs best ever.

and for a team that is seemingly in the BCS Championship conversation every year

Imagine if we'd had a Perrilloux, Flynn, Russell, or Mett in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. We'd have built a college football dynasty at LSU by winning 3 or possibly 4 of the last 5 national championships! Seems as though the last few years all we were missing was a good quarterback, with the exception of obviously 2008 (defense sucked too). Saban probably would be in retirement by now lol!

Who do you give flynn and jmarc credit for? Jmarc played with saban 1 year, i believe flynn played 2 rs in 03. We can chalk that up to Jimbo, but still Miles was the head coach for each of their best seasons as tigers.

And as far as Oregon, well, their new QB is a stud. He was better than Thomas last year.

Mariota is better than him. Chip is a qb whisperer. Dixon, Thomas and now Bennett/Mariota. Dixon was considering baseball before he arrived on the scene.

but it's still puzzling that an elite SEC West team can't consistently recruit and develop a quarterback.

Hard to argue with this statement.

This biggest hope for Mettenberger is that he was never, ever coached by Crowton.

JL played as well as he could, but never became a solid SEC QB. The speed of the game was too much for him (AL).

Lisa Horne is very prejudiced against LSU for some reason. Also, her analysis of most situations is inaccurate.

What trend? It was one player for 3 years that held back the LSU offense.

Fail. I like Lee but he has to join the conversation for our poor QB play over the last 3 yrs. I appreciate him staying with LSU but he was not the QB we needed. If we have one position Les has let us down in it is the QB. Here is to hoping we change that trend.

hmmmm... let me think. Z. Lee dropped us for pro baseball, Mett is a stud, and we have the QB Oregon wanted. I won't add Rivers because everyone here thinks he sucks.

the problem is qbs are judged as to how they perform in the clutch and against the best teams.

What were JJ's stats against bama for both games?

Lee's?

Lee was benched for throwing two interceptions in one game.

Well, Lee did lead the SEC in passer rating during that 8 game stretch.
